Mercedes-Benz unveils E-Class wagon version; the new Estate S214
KUALA LUMPUR: It was only a few months back that Mercedes-Benz introduced the E-Class sedan and now we hear the automaker has unveiled the wagon version of the luxury car. Called the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate S214, it keeps the line-up tradition alive.

Compared to the previous gen model, this one is 28 mm long and adds 22mm to the wheelbase. The latter enables the wagon to offer more rear leg (+15mm) and elbow room (+25mm). The shoulder room is also increased by 10 mm.
Design language
The wagon’s roofline is more aerodynamic than before, thus making the car more aerodynamic than before. Compared to its predecessor, the E-Class Estate S214 has a Cd figure of 0.26.

- Petrol mild hybrid (MHEV) E 200: A 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit making 204 hp and 320 Nm; paired with the mill is a a 48-volt mild hybrid system where an ISG offers an -boost of 23 PS and 205 Nm,
- Diesel MHEV E 220 d: A 2.0-litre turbo diesel four-cylinder rated at 197 PS and 440 Nm. It also gts the same mild hybrid system as the E 200
- Petrol plug-in hybrid (PHEV) E 300 e: A 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine along with a powerful electric motor which provides 129 PS and 440 Nm. The total system output is rated at 313 PS and 550 Nm.
The drive is sent to the rear wheels via a 9G automatic transmission unit.
