One-off Rolls-Royce Phantom Orchid is finally ready

KUALA LUMPUR: The beauty of an orchid can’t be denied, it’s immensely graceful and full of delicacy. Now imagine this beautiful flower paired with the ultra-luxurious Rolls-Royce. The results would be breathtaking, right?

Well, this exactly happened two years ago, when work of the ‘1 of 1’ Rolls-Royce Phantom “Orchid” began. Together the designers, artisans, and craftsmen worked on the idea at the company’s Bespoke Collective division. And the output is just stunning.

The floral design you see in the images is inspired by the Singapore orchid among others. And as can be expected, like very bespoke Rolls-Royce, this also involved multiple hours of intricate handwork and detailing.

Helen Amy Murray, an award-winning artist first hand designed the art piece beforehand sculpting it into silk fabric. It took Murry almost 200 hours to get the job done.

The stunning pearlescent appearance you see is attributed to a unique Arctic White paint specially created for the base tone of the ‘art piece’. Further, a tint of violet was added (inspired by the flower), followed by a layer of fine glass particles.

Where can you find these beautiful orchid flowers on the Phantom?

Mainly on the dashboard or ‘The Gallery” as Rolls-Royce calls it. The orchid is also painted on the car’s coachline, door sills, and rear picnic table.

Stimulating the look and feel of an orchid sanctuary, Rolls-Royce further chose Havana, Grace White, and Smoke Grey stitching, thus creating a calm and serene environment.
