Rolls Royce Ghost

Finished in the finest of leathers, wood, trim elements and veneers, the customisable interior of the Rolls-Royce Ghost looks and feels ultra-luxurious. Like the Phantom, one has the option of both starliner roofs with shooting star effects for the headliner due to the laser-etched lights or a sunroof. 

Despite sticking true to the traditions with high-quality materials, the Rolls-Royce Ghost has moved forward in this fast-paced world, with the car getting high-definition TFT screens for the instrument console, touchscreen infotainment system, and rear seat entertainment screens. More features that make the Ghost feel rich in tech include an 18-speaker audio system, an integrated champagne fridge in the rear seats, a wi-fi hotspot, a head-up display, and a Micro-Environment Purification System (MEPS).

The features just don’t end there, with the Rolls-Royce Ghost further pampering the occupants inside with its comfort and convenience features like four-zone automatic climate control, fully electrically-adjustable and reclinable front and rear seats with memory and massage functions, heated and ventilated seats and more.

Following Rolls-Royce’s latest ‘post-opulence’ design language, the second-generation Rolls-Royce Ghost looks elegant and rich, while the large dimensions give it a dominating stance. The front profile of the Rolls-Royce Ghost has a stretched-forward bonnet shut line, which ends with the coveted ‘spirit of ecstasy’ and an illuminated Pantheon grille with vertical chrome slats.

Further making the front profile of the Rolls-Royce Ghost look imposing are the angular rectangular headlamps, which feature LED projectors and C-shaped LED DRLs. The massive-looking door panels and front and rear fenders are the reasons behind its imposing stance when viewed from the side, which only gets better with 19-inch wheels and a single ‘waft line’ running across the entire length of the car. 

At the back, the Rolls-Royce Ghost looks wide with the boat-tail-inspired rear hatch and windscreen and trapezoidal tail lamps with LED inserts on the sides of the swooping boot lid. The Black Badge Edition of the Ghost does come dark chrome finish for the grille, spirit of ecstasy, alloy wheels, and boot lid garnish. 

Equipped with an all-wheel drive system, the Rolls-Royce Ghost has a double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. The overall ride quality from this suspension is very comfortable, with the car feeling stable and composed at all speeds, thanks to its air springs, electronically controlled dampers, and active anti-roll bars. Despite having rear-wheel steering, the turning radius is still huge, given a car of its size. 

Shared with the Phantom sedan and Cullinan SUV, the 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine under the hood of the Rolls-Royce Ghost claims a maximum power output of 563 bhp and a maximum torque output of 850 Nm. However, in the Black Badge variant, this same engine produces 592 bhp of power and 900 Nm of torque. An 8-speed ZF automatic transmission is standard in all the versions of Ghost.

The comprehensive package of autonomous driving assistance features offered in the Rolls-Royce Ghost include features like lane departure warning, nightlife and pedestrian warning, vision assist, cross-traffic warning, alertness assistant, and lane change warning. Other safety features of this luxury sedan from Rolls-Royce are eight airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a hill start assist, hill descent control, a 360-degree parking camera, front and rear park assist, and more. 

While the Ghost is not the ultimate car from Rolls-Royce (that credit goes to the Phantom), it still gives all other luxury sedans in its price range’s proximity a run for their money with its excellence in comfort, aura, road presence, and luxury. The twin-turbo V12 is one of the best engines for an ultra-luxury sedan, while the levels of luxury inside-out make it worth every penny, despite it costing a bomb.
