As expected, the Bentley Flying Spur excels efficiently when it comes to pampering the occupants with an immensely luxurious cabin which comes with leather, trim levels and equipment of very high orders. The spacious cabin of the Bentley Flying Spur base-spec version comes with a standard five-seater configuration, with the cabin inspired by the Bentley Wings marque, resulting in a beautiful dashboard layout flowing towards the central console.

Above it all is a glass-to-glass panoramic sunroof that fills the cabin with natural light. With a fixed panel of glass at its rear, the front panel tilts and slides to let fresh air in, while electric Dinamica blinds, colour-matched to your interior, provide shade whenever you wish. The dramatically floating centre console has a stunning central vent at the top, with fine bronze detailing spread across the middle and an innovative 12.3-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, which can also fold backways for the display of traditional analogue clocks. The centre console is further garnished by the rotary switches with jewel-like diamond knurling, which is also preferred for the indicator stalks and front and rear AC vents.

Other features which make the cabin of the Bentley Flying Spur highly desirable and a luxurious place to be in also include 24-way adjustments for the front and 14-way adjustments for the rear seats with heating, ventilation, massage and recliner functions, power-slidable and heated front and rear centre armrests, 10-speaker Bentley audio system, four-zone automatic climate control, additional touchscreen for the rear seats for controlling various in-car functions, and more.

The Bentley Flying Spur has the true, authoritative stance of a high-class luxury sedan, which is evident in its sheer size and high-order opulence displayed in abundance. The striking lines, elegant roofline, haunches over the wheels and sweeping power line on the side profile all combine to give the Flying Spur the tremendous stance of a proper luxury saloon.

At the front, the Bentley Flying Spur has jewel-like rounded LED Matrix headlamps, which feature crystal-like inserts that throw out an eye-catching illumination. The trapezoidal grille between the headlamps and the wide air dam spread across the width of the front bumper have diamond-shaped chrome inserts, while also getting thick chrome surrounds for a wholesome premium appeal. While the LED fog lamps housed on the side air dams on the front bumper and chrome bonnet strip in the middle come as standard, the flying winged B bonnet mascot is offered as an option.

The side profile of the Bentley Flying Spur is equally authoritative as the front profile, with the luxury sedan impressing with its sleek and taut lines and haunches over the wheel arches. This base-spec version of the Flying Spur comes with the options of 20-inch 5 twin-spoke alloy wheels or 21-inch 10 twin-spoke alloy wheels.

More chrome can be seen over the window surrounds, lower door garnish strip and rearview mirrors. At the back too, the Bentley Flying Spur has slanted, angular four-edged tail lamps, which like the headlamps, come with jewel-like LED inserts for a beautiful presence when lit. The rear bumper looks premium with the stretched chrome garnish strip and twin rounded chrome exhaust tips on either side of it.

The Bentley Flying Spur might not be a driver’s delight with sharp driving dynamics but is still one supremely comfortable car to drive and drive. Bentley offers the Flying Spur with active all-wheel drive, three-chamber air suspension with continuous damping control, dynamic ride height control with altering ground clearance and drive dynamics control for a finely balanced ride and handling equilibrium.

Bentley offers the standard Flying Spur with two engine options. First is the larger 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, which is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine produces 550 PS of power and 770 Nm of torque while claiming a top speed of 318 kmph, 0-100 kmph timing of 4.1 seconds and 8.6 kmpl fuel efficiency.

However, those who do not require the full-blown power experience can still settle for the efficiency-centric hybrid powertrain, including a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine and an electric motor with a rechargeable battery. This powertrain claims 544 PS combined power output, 750 Nm combined torque output, 285 kmph top speed, 0-100 kmph timing of 4.3 seconds, 31.25 kmpl fuel efficiency and 51 km of pure electric range.

Besides the essentials like eight airbags, an electronic stability program with traction control, ABS with EBD and brake assist, drag torque control, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake with drive away assist, the Bentley Flying Spur also has cruise control, front and rear park distance control, park assist, exit warning and blind spot warning. However, for this price, the Bentley Flying Spur could have had a full-fledged Level 2 ADAS.

The Bentley Flying Spur ticks all the boxes with supreme levels of craftsmanship in exterior and interior design, excellent powertrain options for both performance and efficiency seekers, high equipment levels and fine engineering prowess for its chassis aided with modern electronics.
