New looks and features for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB

KUALA LUMPUR: One after the other, Mercedes seems to get busy with updation work for its models. After introducing the AMG-specific GLA and GLB with a new set of features for the model year 2024, the automaker has now come forward with the new 2024 GLB compact SUV.

The car now features a significantly upgraded interior along with an extensive list of standard features and revised design language (both inside and outside).

Powertrain configuration

The European-spec model is offered with four petrol and four diesel engine options with four-cylinder units & 7- to 8-speed DCT as standard.

Key engine highlights -

• The two most powerful petrol engines feature 4MATIC all-wheel drive
• All petrol units are electrified for reduced emission
• Mild-hybrid petrol mills get 48-volt electrified system
• Starter-generator not only increases comfort but also contributes to low noise and vibration
• Lightweight aluminium cylinder head and crankcase
• To reduce friction between the cylinder wall & steel piston, the automaker has coated them with Nanoslide

Design revision

• A redesigned front bumper with visual underbody protection
• A new full-LED headlights
• New rear lights
• New freestanding double screen

• 7-inch and a 10.25-inch displays for the respective instrument cluster and multimedia screens
• Two 10.25‑inch wide-screen displays are available as an option

• Increased USB charging power
• Illuminated USB ports
