Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Both the variants of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited come with the same all-black theme for the cabin, with the variants offered with black cloth fabric upholstery as standard. The cabin also has a very unique vibe like the exterior, with the dashboard having an almost upright design with the elements and inserts giving it an old-school theme.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has a round-themed three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with a very comprehensive instrument console behind it, which has large pop-up dials for the speedometer and tachometer and a large 7-inch full-TFT MID in between them. The corners of the dashboard and the sides of the centre console get rounded AC vents, with the centre console dominated by a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The lower half of the centre console is occupied by physical buttons for the automatic climate control and various drive and off-road settings, which exude top-order quality. The cabin of the off-road-oriented Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is further equipped with more premium features like rear AC vents, a powered driver’s seat, an engine push start-stop button and more.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has a lot of masculinity in its design, which is pretty evident in its old-school design language with upright lines, flared wheel arches and heightened stance. All of these design elements give the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited a striking road presence like no other premium SUV of its price, making it look muscular from front to rear.

At the front, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has a distinctive fascia comprising of the iconic seven-slat grille flanked with rounded headlamps, which are all halogen in Sport and LED units in Sahara variants. This entire front fascia of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is enclosed within a trapezoidal panel which has rounded upper edges. Both the variants of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited come with an off-road spec front bumper, with bulged housings for the rounded halogen fog lamps on the corners. In the Sahara variant, these fog lamps also feature contrast silver surrounds.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has a five-door design in both Sport and Sahara variants, with the SUV getting angular doors and window panels. This version of Wrangler comes with a hard-top configuration as standard, with an all-black roof stretched till the back with a bulge over the second row. Both the variants also come with flared wheel arches – blacked-out in Sport and body-coloured in Sahara, and while the Sport variant has 17-inch blacked-out alloy wheels, the Sahara variant features more premium-looking 18-inch machined alloy wheels.

At the back, both the variants of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited retain the iconic tailgate-mounted spare wheel design, which is becoming a rarity among SUVs these days. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has squared-off tail lamps with LED inserts, on the sides of the almost flat and upright tailgate. The rear bumper also is all blacked out with an offset housing for the license plate.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is an outright off-roader with a robust body-on-frame chassis and five-link optimized independent suspension at both front and rear. Both the variants of the SUV come with anti-roll bars and box-section control arms for a better ride and handling balance, while also offering Command-Trac Part-Time four-wheel drive system as standard.

The only powertrain option offered in both the variants of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is the familiar 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine, which is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission in the Sport and an 8-speed automatic transmission in the Sahara variants. This old-school V6 petrol engine generates 285 bhp of maximum power and 352 Nm of maximum torque.

For its price, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited feels a bit low on safety features, as it misses out on modern ADAS features, and gets only the essentials like six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, hill descent control, reverse parking sensors and reverse camera.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited might be missing out on some of the luxuries and features for a vehicle of its price, but one must note that no other vehicle of its price gives a pure and unadulterated off-road driving experience with a capable four-wheel drive system and mechanicals.
