All-new 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB up for grabs in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: After a short teaser campaign, Mercedes-Benz has launched the all-new GLB facelift in Malaysia. The upgraded version of the compact SUV is offered in two variants - GLB 200 and GLB 250 4MATIC, priced at RM 290,888 and RM 341,888 (on the road, without insurance).

The all-new 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB features a new exterior look with redesigned bumpers and LED lights and an upmarket cabin with a freestanding double screen powered by the latest MBUX system. The SUV also gains a 48-volt electrical system for improved acceleration and energy recuperation.In terms of design, the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLB benefits from a revised front apron with geometry design, a new front bumper, new LED High Performance with new DRLs, and Adaptive Highbeam Assist. The new set of tail lights also houses new graphics.
The GLB 200 features a Progressive Line exterior, while the GLB 250 4MATIC boasts an AMG Line exterior. The former comes with a new radiator grille with four louvres whereas the latter has a radiator grille with chrome inserts and single louvres. Customers opting for the Night Package also get high-gloss black finish on various trim parts.
The new GLB 200 has 18-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, while the GLB 250 4MATIC features 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels. The latter further stands out with the AMG front apron and front splitter and AMG rear apron with high-gloss black visible tailpipe trim.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has also upgraded the SUV’s colour palette with the addition of a new Spectral Blue Metallic hue.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLB has an inviting and spacious cabin that can comfortably accommodate seven occupants. It features two freestanding 10.25-inch displays (for the instrument cluster and infotainment unit) powered by the latest Mercedes-Benz User Experience system. The latter allows users to connect Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly. The hard-disc navigation is available through the Mercedes Me store.
The SUV also features a new multifunction sports steering wheel, wrapped in Nappa leather on the GLB 250 4MATIC and in leather on the GLB 200. The new comfort seats are upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather and MICROCUT microfibre on the top-spec version, and ARTICO man-made leather on the entry-level model. The GLB 250 4MATIC also includes backlit Star-pattern trim, while the GLB 200 comes with Star-pattern trim.
Furthermore, the new GLB features a redesigned centre console, 64-colour ambient lighting system, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, and additional USB-C port. Notably, all USB ports are now illuminated and come with increased charging power.
Coming to the oily bits, here the base-spec GLB200 houses a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine tuned to deliver a maximum power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 270 Nm. Sending power to the front wheels is a 7G dual-clutch transmission. Performance-wise, it runs from zero to 100 kmph in 9.3 and attains a top speed of 207 kmph.
The GLB250 4MATIC, on the contrary, is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged mill combined with a 48-volt belt starter generator for improved acceleration and energy recuperation. This mild-hybrid setup generates a total output of 224 PS and 350 Nm. Here, the power is sent to all four wheels via an 8G DCT gearbox, enabling the SUV to hit the century sprint in 7 seconds and a top speed of 236 kmph.
In terms of safety, the SUV comes kitted with Blind Spot Assist, Exit Warning Assist, Active Brake Assist, Active Lane-keeping Assist, Active Parking Assist, KEYLESS-GO Comfort package, GUARD 360° Vehicle protection, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Exit Warning System and Interior Monitoring System.
