2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE new variants launched in Malaysia, price begins at RM 379,888

In conjunction with the opening of the Star Elegance retail outlet, Mercedes-Benz has launched a series of new and upgraded EQE models in Malaysia. The new range caters to the diverse lifestyle and environmental priorities of eco-conscious customers by offering distinctive features and capabilities.

Upon launching the new EVs, Amanda Zhang, CEO & President, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia said, “At Mercedes-Benz, we offer one of the most extensive portfolios of luxury electric vehicles in Malaysia, with at least an EV variant in every segment. Today, we extend our commitment to electromobility with the introduction of four new model variants of the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.”

Let’s know the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE lineup in detail.

2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia first introduced the EQE sedan in late 2022 in a single variant, the EQE 350+ AMG Line. It has now upgraded this model along with adding an entry-level trim to the lineup, called the EQE 350+ Electric Art Line. The pricing is as follows -

Both variants are powered by the same rear-mounted electric motor, which dishes out a maximum power of 292 hp and a peak torque of 565 Nm. The power is transferred to the rear wheels via a single-speed automatic transmission enabling the EV to hit the century sprint in 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 210 kmph.

The electric drivetrain also houses a 90.56 kWh battery pack offering a WLTP-claimed range of 665 - 682 km. 

The EQE sedan now supports higher 22 kW AC charging as standard, which juices up the battery in 4 hrs 45 min. The DC charging is still capped at 170 kW offering 10 to 80% SoC in just 32 minutes.

While the drivetrain setup of the Electric Art Line and AMG Line trims are the same, the following bits set them apart - 

• The EQE 350+ AMG Line features an AMG Line styling kit and 19-inch AMG-style alloy wheels. It benefits from several new features such as a panoramic sunroof, radiator grille with Mercedes-Benz pattern, rear-axle steering with up to 10° steering angle adjustment, AIRMATIC air suspension, and an electric charging socket flap. 

• The base-spec EQE 350+ Electric Art Line, on the other hand, boasts a subtle Electric Art exterior and interior styling, 19-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, and ARTICO man-made leather black / space grey.
• In place of ​​a Burmester surround sound system available on the AMG-Line, the Electric Art Line gets an Advanced Sound System audio system.

Standard equipment kit includes Digital Light with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, 64-colour active ambient lighting, Keyless-Go Comfort Package, wireless charging, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch OLED infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Driving Assistance Plus Package.

2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV

Mercedes-Benz has also expanded the SUV lineup of the EQE. The EV is now offered in two new variants - EQE 350+ SUV Electric Art Line and EQE 350+ SUV AMG Line, which joins the EQE SUV 500 4MATIC AMG Line trim launched in December.

The pricing of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV lineup is as follows -

As the names suggest, the new trims are powered by a lower-spec drivetrain. They feature a rear-mounted electric motor that is tuned to generate a maximum power of 292 hp and a peak torque of 565 Nm. The motor is fed by a 90.56 kWh battery, cruising the EV up to 596 km on a single charge. The charging capabilities are the same as the executive sedan. 

In terms of performance, the EQE 350+ SUV trims run from zero to 100 kmph in 6.7 sec and attain a top speed of 210 kmph.

Equipment-wise, the EQE 350+ SUV Electric Art Line features Electric Art exterior and interior, DIGITAL LIGHT, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, comfort suspension, 20-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels, MBUX augmented reality, NEOTEX / ARTICO man-made leather upholstery, Advanced Sound System, Driving Assistance Package Plus, and Parking Package with 360° camera.

The EQE 350+ SUV AMG Line sets itself apart with AMG Line styling, 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, AIRMATIC suspension, sports seats, rear axle steering, Burmester 3D surround sound system, and panoramic sunroof.

The deliveries of the new SUV variants will begin in June 2024.
