2024 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II: Impressive features

Earlier this year, Rolls-Royce launched its new car, the Phantom Series II in Malaysia. Its car's arrival was a bit special because it followed the 8th gen Phantom launch that took place more than six years ago.

Before diving into its long list of impressive features, let us first clear our basics -

Variants & Price

Locally, the Phantom Series II is offered in two variants - the standard-wheelbase (SWB) version and an Extended variant. The former is priced at RM 2.5 million (exclusive of tax and options) and the latter is RM 400,000 more expensive than the SWB at RM 2.9 million.

Powertrain

Powering the Rolls-Royce is a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine making a maximum power output of 571 PS along with a peak torque of 900 Nm. The drive is sent to the rear wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

The twin-turbo mill allows the luxury palace on wheels to complete the century sprint in 5.3 seconds and 5.4 seconds, in SWB and EWB respectively. The car can attain a top speed of 250 kmph.

Illuminated grille

The legendary Rolls-Royce Pantheon grille is one of its outstanding exterior features. Why? The unit is amplified by dark chrome surrounds and radiates a stunning glow. Its polished bar aligns with new DRLs, creating a powerful and prominent horizon line.

Striking wheels

The Rolls-Royce adorns striking wheels manufactured by 3D milling. The unit features Dynamic Wheel faceted surfaces creating an abstract sense of depth. Even in motion, the Rolls-Royce monogram remains in place.

Starlight headlights

The front lighting setup is no less than astral beauty observed in a clear night sky. It is for the first time that Phantom Series II comes packed with such a headlight which utilizes 580 laser cut-stars.

Hand-painted coachline

The car’s Monteverde exterior showcases the distinctive hand-painted Peony Pink Coachline — a hue inspired by the green and blue hues of nature’s undiscovered territories.

Two-tone color theme

The Phantom Series II stands out against the crowd thanks to its impressive two-tone Paint. The complementing color schemes accentuated the car’s muscular lines, drawing owners to the driver’s seat.

Impressive exterior detailing

The car showcases impressive black detailing on the outside including a dark windscreen, taillight, and exhaust surrounds. Together they put forward the car’s athletic stature.

The Gallery

Every Phantom houses something called ‘The Gallery’. This one is an uninterrupted glass enclosure that protects and presents the bespoke works of art in the car. Spanning across the entire length of the car’s fascia, the installation reflects the taste and desires of the patron.

Shooting Star headliner

Like the exterior, the car’s interior showcases craftsmanship beyond comparison. For instance, the transfixing Shooting Star Headliner is made up of hundreds of fiber optic lights carefully fitted into the car's leather roof lining. Owners can customize the color and even ask for custom constellations.

Thick steering wheel

The all-new Phantom Series II comes with an optional thick steering wheel which acts as the ultimate point of connection between the driver and the car. Its unique position allows the driver to take charge of the road ahead.

Contemporary display

Taking design cues from the patterns and colors found in mineral lava stone is the open-pore Obsidian Ayous Veneers. This timeless finish surrounds the car’s bespoke audio system speakers which again is a source of studio-quality sound.

World-class leather

As expected the Rolls-Royce features world-class leather which is not only great to touch and feel but also offers amazing comfort. Here the leather adorns Scivaro Girey and Peony Pink tones.
