The SUV features a sporty front end with a radiator grille incorporating a chrome surround and vertical louvres. It seamlessly blends into the car's sleek headlights, which not only add to the overall width but also provide exceptional visibility on the road. Adding to it is the iconic Mercedes star, proudly displayed in the centre of the grille, serving as a reminder of the SUV's ultimate luxury and sophistication.
Part of the AMG body styling is AMG front apron kitted with sporty air intakes and chrome trim elements.
The latest version of the Mercedes-Benz GLC comes with an innovative feature called DIGITAL LIGHT. This is a game-changer in headlamp technology offering unparalleled dynamics and precision. It enables the SUV to adapt its high-resolution lighting to the exact conditions of the road, offering excellent visibility to the driver without impairing that of other road users.
Towards the sides, the updated GLC features optional aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs, which reinforces its character. They are positioned on the side skirts at a certain height and assist the passengers in getting in and out.
Further enhancing the side profile are stunning 20-inch AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels. They are aerodynamically optimised and painted black with a high-sheen finish.
The redesigned tail lamps of the SUV feature a striking two-section design creating a captivating 3D effect. Alongside accentuating the vehicle’s width, they also give it a more futuristic look. The SUV also houses an AMG diffuser-look rear apron with trim in black
Adding an extra touch of sophistication to the overall aesthetic are the simulated chrome tailpipes, which are encased in a chrome underguard.
Inside, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC gets a clearly structured dashboard with a wing-like profile flattened round nozzles at the upper section, and a generous trim area flowing into the centre console at the lower section. The dashboard and beltlines are wrapped in ARTICO man-made leather in a black nappa-look finish, as a part of the AMG-Line package.
At the centre lies a highly advanced display powered by the latest-gen MBUX multimedia system. It is tilted towards the driver and acts as a digital interface between the occupant and the vehicle; it lets one control several important functions of the vehicle intuitively and comfortably. These include multimedia, navigation (with augmented reality and live traffic information), Hey Mercedes voice assistant, climate controls (for Thermatic dual-zone system), and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The infotainment screen and instrument panel measure 11.9 inches and 12.3 inches in size, respectively. Both present the information in a structured and clear manner while offering a holistic, aesthetic experience.
The multifunction sports steering wheel comes wrapped in Nappa leather and features horizontal double spokes. It also has a flattened bottom section inspired by motorsports emphasising the dynamic appeal of the cockpit.
Offering the occupants an exclusive sound experience is Burmester® 3D surround sound system. It is equipped with high-quality speakers and can be specifically optimised for the front and rear seats to intensify the listening experience.
The seats incorporate a sporty layout and redesigned headrests and come with 4-way lumbar support, Memory Package, and Stowage Space Package.
Part of the AMG-line are AMG sports pedals, Black floor mats with AMG lettering, doors with high-gloss black trim and silver chrome surrounds, and a roof liner in black fabric.
The luggage capacity of the SUV measures 620 litres fulfilling the transport requirements of day-to-day driving and holiday journeys with the family. For easy loading and unloading of the luggage, the vehicle has the EASY-PACK tailgate, which opens or closes conveniently at the tap of a button.
Under the bonnet of the GLC 300 4MATIC lies a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that kicks out a maximum power of 258 PS and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The engine comes paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system housing an integrated starter-generator that offers a boost of 23 PS and 200 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission mated to the 4Matic all-wheel drive system.
In terms of performance, the new GLC runs from zero to 100 kmph in 6.2 seconds and hits a top speed of 240 kmph.
Explicitly designed for off-road driving, the GLC also features an off-road driving mode and DSR (Downhill Speed Regulation). The former works in tandem with a 360-degree camera and offers a “transparent bonnet”: A virtual view under the front of the SUV, including the wheels and their steering position is displayed on the central screen. It enables the driver to tackle all sorts of obstacles on the path such as large stones or deep potholes at an early stage.
As for safety, it comes with advanced bits like blind spot assist, PRE-SAFE, active lane keeping assist, passive cruise control, active brake assist, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, Parking Package, and more.
