KUALA LUMPUR: The Taiwanese automaker SYM recently expanded its range of scooters by introducing the all-new 4MICA in the home market. The new two-wheeled scooter looks funky and kitted with many great features.

    Features making the SYM 4MICA utilitarian are

    • 410 mm long floorboard space
    • A patented pillion seat that can flip up to act as a cushioned backrest
    • The seat comes with an expandable integrated rack serving as a flat cargo bay
    • Optional saddle neatly placed into the side panel

    Although SYM doesn’t offer an under-seat storage area with it, riders will have to mount their baggage on the pillion cargo area.

    SYM offers the model in two versions, one is powered by a 124.7-cc SOHC engine generating a maximum power output of 9.5 PS and a peak torque of 9.5 Nm, while the other gets energy from a 150-cc engine kicking out 11.3 PS and 12.25 Nm.

    Both models roll on 10-inch wheels wrapped with 100/90 tyres at both ends. The suspension is taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. As for branking, SYM 4MICA is equipped with a 205 mm petal front disc and a rear drum brake, coupled with a single-channel anti-braking system. 

    The SYM 4MICA 125 is priced at TWD 79,800 (around RM 11,977), whereas the 150 variant retails for TWD 85,800 (about RM 12,877).
