Upcoming 2023 BMW i7 previewed in Malaysia; pre-bookings open
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW introduced the 7th-gen 7 Series in April this year, back then the range also included the fully-electric i7. Now, BMW Malaysia is prepping up to bring the EV to the local market.

BMW Malaysia has not revealed the 2023 i7 price, however, it is expected to be priced somewhere between RM 550,000 to RM 600,000.The 2023 BMW i7 was recently seen at one of the brand’s prominent dealerships located in Klang Valley. Seen at the preview was a pre-production left-drive model wherein potential owners and VIPs viewed the car in its full glory. Although the Evs' launch date is yet to be revealed, the automaker has opened up the EVs ordering books.
Present at the preview was the BMW i7 xDrive60 variant that as per the automaker will be sold globally first before other variants are introduced.
Here are key details about BMW i7 xDrive60 -
Engine: The i7 xDrive60 is powered by two e-motors generating a maximum power of 545 PS along with a peak torque of 745 Nm.
Performance: The power configuration enables the new BMW EV to complete a century sprint in just 4.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 240 kmph.
Range: Also part of the kit is a 101.7kWh lithium-ion battery that allows the sedan to offer a range of up to 625 km with a fully charged battery.
Charging: The AC charging setup takes around 9.5 hours to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent. The DC fast charging does the same job in 35 minutes.
Exterior: The i7’s exterior design language is surly more radical compared to the ongoing 7 Series. Some of its key inclusions being - an illuminated front grille, slimmer LED headlights, sleek tail lamps, 21-inch wheels, and much more.
Interior: The cabin gets a generous dose of what seems to be crystal trim, thus saying goodbye to the wood inserts. Also, part of the kit is BMW’s new curved display, eco-friendly high-quality material (on door trim, seats, and dashboard), Bowers & Wilkins audio system, a 31.3-inch 8K BMW Theater Screen at the rear, Theater Screen with top streaming apps (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and more), touch-screen displays on each rear doors (to control air-con system, entertainment, windows, and more).
Colours: The 2023 i7 is expected to be offered in four body hues, names of which are to be revealed.
