Say hello to the all-new 2024 Mini Countryman SUV

KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside unveiling the all-new Mini Cooper, the British luxury automotive marque has also unboxed the new third-gen Mini Countryman in the global market. Like the revamped three-door hatch, the new Countryman also comes with two electric versions - E and SE ALL4. Three ICE-powered models will also be available for the new Mini SUV viz. C, S ALL4, and JCW ALL4.

The Countryman E is powered by a single electric motor generating 204 hp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The motor is fed by a 66.45 kWh battery pack offering a range of 462 km. The Countryman SE, on the other hand, comes equipped with a 313 hp/494 Nm electric motor and a 66.45 kWh battery pack, allowing the EV to cruise up to 433 km on a single charge.

In terms of dimensions, the next-gen Mini Countryman is 130 mm longer at 4,433 mm and 60 mm taller at 1,656 mm. The width and wheelbase remain the same at 1,843 mm and 2,692 mm, respectively.

In terms of visual updates, the new Mini SUV gets a new octagonal grille, configurable LED DRLs (with three lighting signatures options), new roof colours, 20-inch rims, new flush tail lights, and a redesigned C-pillar. 

Getting inside, here the upgraded Countryman features a new curved dashboard incorporating a new 9.44-inch OLED screen. The display is powered by MINI Operating System 9 and supports voice commands through the Intelligent Personal Assistant. The car is being offered in four trim choices - Essential, Classic, Favoured, and John Cooper Works.

The SUV also comes equipped with 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround-view cameras, providing advanced driver assistance capabilities. Also part of the kit is an optional Parking Assistant Professional that can manoeuvre the car out of a parking space via a new Remote Parking function.

Mini will begin producing the new third-gen Countryman in Germany later this year.
