New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon: Key highlights

The German automaker, Mercedes-Benz, welcomed several new models in its line during the recent months. Like the Mercedes-Benz E300 Coupe AMG Line, Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, and the 5th generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class saloon.

Today we'll be discussing the most affordable model in this group and that’s the 2022 C-Class executive sedan. The car made its official debut in Malaysia exactly a year after its world premiere and is offered to us in two variants, both CBU fully-imported units. However, by the second half of the year, they’ll be locally assembled.

Before we begin discussing the key highlights of the 2022 C-Class saloon, it’s best to first go through some of the basics.

2022 C-Class Dimensions

Sitting on Mercedes' second-gen MRA 2 platform, the new C-Class measures 4,751 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width, and 1,438 mm in height. Thus, making it 65 mm longer, 10 mm wider, and 9 mm lower compared to the previous generation model. The wheelbase is extended by 25 mm, making the new wheelbase coming down to 2,865 mm.

The new CBU C-Class saloon is offered in eight exciting colour options including Hyacinth Red, Spectral Blue, High-tech Silver, Polar White, Cavansite Blue, Obsidian Black, Selenite Grey, and Graphite Grey.

As for the former, the sedan’s innovative suspension setup with adaptive adjustable damping gives you the choice of high damping comfort or maximum agility.

Also, the rear-axle steering offers additional support at every speed, low or high. It actively adjusts to the journey, it facilitates more manoeuvrability during slow driving and more stability at higher speed.

Superior suspension setup:

The new C-Class sedan offers one suspension - three types. The Adaptive Damping System adjusts to your handling. The sedan comes with DYNAMIC SELECT Switch that the driver can change swiftly through various modes like Sport or Comfort.

Output meets efficiency:

Between the C-Class engine and transmission setup is a second-gen integrated starter generator. This innovative system also takes on the functionality of a hybrid assistance motor, meaning 200 Nm additional torque during acceleration.

Spacious boot & cabin:

The C-Class gets Stowage Space Package as standard. It includes several stowage and securing facilities for the cabin and boot compartment.

Memory package:

This package allows you to conveniently store and select up to three different seat positions. Also, one can store the position of the steering wheel, optional head-up display, and exterior mirrors.

USB package:

Charge your mobile devices easily thanks to the two additional USB-C ports under the front armrest. Via connected devices, you can also import data to the multimedia system.
