‘Maserati from A to Z’ a tribute video retracing the brand’s 106 years of journey

KUALA LUMPUR: The Italian carmaker Maserati was shining throughout 2020 as this year the brand unveiled its first electrified car, alongside other exciting launches like the Trofeo collection and the MC20 supercar fitted with an all-new Nettuno engine. And now it brings the year to a close on a high note with the celebration of its 106th anniversary.

On December 1, Maserati celebrated this occasion by looking to the past, present, and future of its motoring passion with a short film entitled ‘Maserati from A to Z’. The 3-minute, 48-second clip tells the automaker’s story through the Maserati alphabet; an encapsulation of the marque from A to Z. It conveys a timeless spirit through imagery with a strong visual impact and a special soundtrack “Maserati Mix” made from the iconic “The Chase” by Giorgio Moroder.

The story began in 1914 when Alfieri Maserati along with his brothers, Ettore and Ernesto created the company with a focus on motorsport that later became a road-going cars brand. The clip features a total of 30 models, including the Bora, Boomerang, and Biturbo along with the 3500 GT, Ghibli SS, and Quattroporte. While most of the film focuses on past achievements, it also notes the company’s future. 

Being the company’s latest flagship model, the recently unveiled MC20 is prominently featured in the clip. The automaker also teased the upcoming Grecale SUV and the revamped GranTurismo, expected to arrive next year. 

“We’re starting from our roots to build our future,” Maserati CEO Davide Grasso underlines. “We’re proud to have shown that our present is guided by the audacity of those who look to the future with confidence, undaunted by difficulties. 2020 marked the start of a new Era for our Brand and, now as never before, we need to be authentic and to return to our Marque’s timeless values to face the challenges that await us with our energy undimmed. For Maserati, this is a time to build our future.”
