Jaguar XE 2.0 Unveiled in Thailand with a Starting Price of RM474k

Kuala Lumpur: While Malaysia is still in the pipeline, Thailand is lucky enough to witness a launch of the all new Jaguar XE 2.0 at the ongoing Bangkok Motor Show. Beneath the hood, both the variants of Jaguar XE 2.0 would be powered by a 2.0-litre engine with a lower output form of 200 PS at 5000 rpm and a peak torque of 280 Nm at 1750 to 4000 rpm. Unlike the higher output version of 280 PS and 340 Nm. From a position of halt, it takes 7.7 seconds to reach an acceleration of 100 kmph along with a top speed of 237 kmph. While Thailand-spec XE is getting the base 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, other markets include an Ingenium 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine and a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine which churns out a maximum power of 340 PS along with a commanding torque of 450 Nm. While the brochure at the event suggests a manual transmission for Jaguar XE 2.0, it's official Thailand site shows an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Towards the exterior, XE R-Sport is illuminated by bi-function HID Xenon headlights along with LED daytime running lights. Further, it is anchored with 18-inch star-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, it gets an R-Sport body kit and multi-function steering wheel along with a Meridian Audio System. Moving further, the more expensive XE Portfolio lacks an R-Sport body kit but gains a lot of chrome accents throughout the exterior. Inside, it gets a panoramic sunroof, soft grain leather seats, electric sunblind, ambient lighting in 10 colours and some chrome accents as well.

Jaguar XE 2.0 would be made available in two variants namely XE R-Sport 2.0 petrol and XE-Portfolio 2.0 petrol. The former is priced at 3.99 million baht (RM474k) while the latter at 4.19 million baht (RM497k).
