Hyundai Ioniq 6 powertrain recognised as one of Wards' 10 best engines

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai's all-electric Ioniq 6 powertrain secured a spot on the 2023 Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems list. This noteworthy recognition was announced on September 19 and is a testament to the exceptional performance and engineering of the Ioniq 6's powertrain.

The Ioniq 6 showcases Hyundai's commitment to sustainability and innovation in the automotive world. It comes with electric propulsion technology and strongly emphasizes environment friendliness, efficiency, and power. 

This is not the first time Hyundai has received accolades for its commitment to innovation. It has been acknowledged with sixteen recognitions on the Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems list. In 2022, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 SUV was recognised as one of the Ward 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems. 

"Earning two consecutive Wards 10 Best Engine & Propulsion System awards is a remarkable achievement," said Byungho Lee, director of electrified propulsion development, Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. "This prestigious award recognizes the Ioniq 6's exceptional engineering achieved with the E-GMP Platform. Its innovative architecture enables faster charging, extended driving ranges and superior handling dynamics to elevate the electric vehicle experience to a whole new level."

Hyundai's Electric-Global Modular Platform exemplifies the performance of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. This platform facilitates the integration of dual motors and optimizes the performance of both models.

The 2023 Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsions awards show will be the highlight of the AutoTech: Electrification conference. The event is scheduled for October 17-18, 2023, in Detroit, Michigan.
