BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport: What we like

BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport: What we like

BMW X5 hoisted the flag for the brand’s X lineup of SUVs back in 1999. Over the years, it has proven itself as one of the most efficient and powerful premium Sports Activity vehicles on the road. The five-seater Bimmer is also a go-to choice of big, premium SUV buyers in the Malaysian market. So, here we have come up with the things we like about the locally-assembled model, but before starting that have a look at the BMW X5 price.

Available in a single xDrive45e M Sport plug-in hybrid variant, the SUV is priced at RM 418,813 (on-the-road with SST rebate, without insurance). Although the actual retail price tag of the car reads RM 593,739, the incentives available for the energy-efficient vehicles bring it down to RM 428,170. A rebate of RM 9,356 sales tax further reduces the price. Take note, the SST exemption will remain on offer till 13th December 2021.

Moving onto the BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport things we like-

Road presence

The latest version of the X5 measures 4,922 mm in length, 1,745 mm in height,  2,004 mm in width, and has a wheelbase of 2,975 mm. As compared to its predecessor. It is 36 mm longer, 66 mm wider, and 15 mm taller. Complementing its huge proportions is an imposing single-piece butterfly grille on the front paired with Laserlight LED headlights. The taut lines, angular cuts, and strong details further accentuate its look. Moreover, the ground clearance measuring 214 mm adds weight to the X5’s appearance.

Another striking thing we like about the BMW X5 M Sport is the M Performance parts that enhance the SUV’s athleticism. These include 20-inch M light alloy wheels in Star-Spoke style 740 M Bicolour paired with signature M Sport brakes. Also, parts of the kit are:

  • M Performance rear diffuser (carbon fibre)
