KUALA LUMPUR: Ensuring safety in automobiles is of utmost importance and there can be no compromise in this regard. Aligned with the same thought, PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM), the official distributor of Audi cars in Malaysia, has issued a voluntary recall for a total of 2,767 vehicles in order to inspect and replace the Takata airbag and related parts, which could potentially malfunction and cause injury to the passengers in the event of an accident.

The recall is the presence of Takata airbags or gas generator for the airbag unit, which could potentially malfunction and cause injury to the passengers in the event of an accident. There is a chance that the deployment of the airbag may result in damage to the gas generator housing, which could lead to the displacement of tiny metal components from the housing, creating a significant hazard to safety, explains the automaker.
