All-new 2023 Hyundai Elantra broke covers in South Korea
KUALA LUMPUR: It’s time for a mid-life update for the seventh-gen Hyundai Elantra first unveiled in March 2020. Hyundai has released the official images of the facelifted sedan in South Korea, where it is called the Avante. The updated iteration looks more attractive compared to the model it replaces. The front design of the sedan benefits from a major overhaul while the side and rear profiles remain almost the same with minor design changes. These include -
- A new parametric wider grille with a small body coloured partition
- New slimmer LED headlights mated to a strip running across the top of the grille
- Tweaked bumpers
- New 18-inch alloy wheels
- Slightly different tail lights
- Restyled trim on the rear window pillars
- A silver element on the rear that wraps around the entire bumper
- A flatter Hyundai logo that now comes as standard on all new Hyundai cars
2023 Hyundai Elantra interior
The cabin of the Elantra facelift boasts the familiar wraparound design featuring a flowing central console. The 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen unit and 10.25-inch instrument display also appear to be unchanged. However, what’s new is the Sage Green seat upholstery.
2023 Hyundai Elantra powertrain
Whie Hyundai is yet to reveal the new Elantra’s powertrain options, the updated sedan is likely to be offered with the earlier available choices. These include - a Smartstream 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol which churns out 123 PS and 154 Nm; a Gamma 1.6L NA four-popper mill (runs on LPG) that is good for making 120 PS and 152 Nm, a hybrid setup that combines the Smartstream mill with an electric motor and delivers a combined output of 141 PS and 265 Nm.
Information as to when the latest iteration of the Elantra arrived in Malaysia is not available at the moment.
