5-star safety rating awarded to Kia EV6, Volvo C40, & Mercedes-Benz C-Class

KUALA LUMPUR: Good news guys, Malaysia bound Kia EV6, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Volvo C40 have been awarded a 5-star safety rating in the tests conducted by Europe New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). These new results account for the programme’s third round of results for the year.

    • In the side barrier and pole impact test, the car provided strong protection to all critical body areas

    Kia EV6 EURO NCAP safety rating

    • The vehicle’s Automatic Emergency Braking system responded well to other cars and avoided impacts in most test scenarios
      EV6’s safety high score was supported by features like - Multi-Collision Braking system, eCall system, seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Vehicle Stability Management. Also, the car’s high-strength Electric-Global Modular Platform and rigid body structure help reinforce the safety rating

    The all-electric Volvo C40 Recharge achieved a five-star safety rating in the rectal tests conducted by Euro NCAP. Not only its latest EV but all Volvo cars ever tested by the agency continue to feature a 5-star safety rating.

    • In the frontal impact test, the passenger compartment remained stable. Protection of all critical body areas was good for the driver and front passenger
    • The tests reveal the C40 to be an aggressive impact partner in a frontal collision

    • In the side barrier and pole impact tests, the car showcased protection of all critical body areas
    • In the event of a rear-end collision, the test reveals the C40 to provide a counter-measure to mitigate against occupant to occupant injuries

    • In the side barrier and pole impact test, the car scored maximum points for providing protection to all critical body areas
    • In the rear-end collision test, the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash
    • C-Class safety kit that helped it score such high scores include - an ‘active’ bonnet, autonomous braking system, AEB, camera-based speed assistance system, and lane support system

    The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class arrived in Malaysia just a few months back, and now we are eagerly waiting for the Volvo C40 Recharge and Kia EV6, as both the EVs are confirmed for the local launch soon.
