2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Globally revealed in March this year, the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe has now made its way to the local market. The sporty sibling of the GLC SUV is offered in a sole 4Matic AMG Line variant here, priced at RM 469,888 (on the road, without insurance).

Let’s know the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe in detail, starting with the exterior.

Exterior

The new Mercedes-Benz coupe has a sporty silhouette with dramatic surfaces, moulded edges, and muscular wheel arches. The radiator front grille boasts the iconic Mercedes-Benz grille pattern combined with a "transparent bonnet.” The latter is a part of the 360° camera system, enhancing driving comfort and obstacle navigation. 

The new GLC coupe is also equipped with DIGITAL LIGHT, integrating a matrix of LEDs for dynamic light distribution and control. It also features the Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus function, which allows continuous high-beam driving without dazzling other road users. The rear is kitted with two-part tail lights with black-coloured and dark red connecting elements and a chrome underguard accentuating the width of the vehicle.

Also, parts of the kit are AMG Line exterior body kit, 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs, and a panoramic sliding sunroof.

Engine and performance

Under the bonnet of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic Coupe sits a mild-hybrid engine, which consists of a 258 PS/400 Nm 2.0-litre inline-four engine and a 23 PS/205 Nm electric motor. The power is sent to all four wheels via a 9G-Tronic automatic paired with a full-time all-wheel drive system. In terms of performance, the car runs from a standstill to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds and clocks a top speed of 246 kmph.

Interior

The interior of the all-new GLC Coupé features the sporty AMG Line interior with a Nappa leather-wrapped multifunction sports steering wheel and instrument cluster in ARTICO man-made leather in the Nappa look. The structured dashboard consists of a wing-like upper section, flattened vent outlets, a 12.3-inch driver display, and an 11.9-inch infotainment display (slightly angled towards the driver) powered by the latest MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system.

Safety 

As for safety, the car comes with a PRE-SAFE system, Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Brake Assist. The Parking Package includes a 360° camera and Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC. There is also a GUARD 360° vehicle protection function that offers all-around monitoring of the vehicle's surroundings.
