2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Tested for 12 Million Kilometers

Kuala Lumpur: While the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class is yet to make its world debut on January 11, 2016, at  Detroit Motor Show, the German automaker has already tested the car for 12 million kilometers. Mercedes-Benz has recently released a Youtube video highlighting the development of 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. In the video, the automaker has stated that it is developing the technology since last two years. While the interior of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class was revealed recently in the second week of this month, what's look more interesting is the fact that Mercedes-Benz has produced around 1,200 prototypes of its tenth-generation E-Class model, which has been tested for over 12,000,000 kilometers in the extreme conditions ranging from -32 degree Celcius in the snow to +60 degree Celcius in the hottest deserts of the world.

 

During the test, the prototypes of 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class are claimed to perform around 5,000 automated lane changes and over 10,000 autonomous braking procedures. When all these developments will come together at 2016 Detroit Motor Show, the new E-Class is said to redefine the saloon segment both in terms of luxury and technology. While nothing has been disclosed about the exterior of the new E-Class, however, you can watch a spy video of 100 pre-production Mercedes-Benz E-Class prototypes, which was  captured by walkoArt.

The interior of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class is claimed to be much cleaner and elegant as compared to the C-Class and S-Class. The all new E-Class will be themed on user personalization and will include 64 ambient light colour options. The new E-Class will also feature a new digital dashboard with two 12.3-inches screens integrated as a single unit. The gauge cluster will offer three theme options: Classic, Progressive and Sport.  The new dashboard will be featured on all trim levels of upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class, excluding the entry-level 'Avantgarde'. Other important releases from the Mercedes in 2016 include a V-12 powered 630 hp/1,000Nm Mercedes-AMG S 65 cabriolet, which is the third variant of its kind and tops the S-Class range of Mercedes-AMG.
