SYM Malaysia launched the Jet 14 in conjunction with the CRUiSYM 250i and VF3i 183cc back in 2018. The Jet 14 retails for RM 7,089 is designed for urban commuters looking for an affordable daily commuter. It is powered by an air-cooled 124.6 cc single-cylinder engine that develops a maximum power of 10 hp at 8,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 9.2 Nm at 7,000 rpm. With all this power, the Jet 14 attains a top speed of 100 kmph, it weighs 128 kg, and has a fuel tank capacity of 7.5-litre. On the feature front, the bike gets a twin halogen headlight, LED taillight, and under-seat storage space with a capacity to hold one full-face helmet. Its 771 mm seat height makes it a suitable option for riders, also the flat floor panel makes mounting easy for riders wearing skirts. Braking needs are taken care of by front hydraulic disc and rear drum brakes. The Jet 14 rides on 14-inch wheels both on front and rear.

Abhishek Katariya says
The SYM Jet 14 is one of the most affordable 200cc maxi-scooters you can buy in the Malaysian market right now. This affordable maxi-scooter from the Taiwanese scooter giant is a popular offering that offers a nice blend of comfort and performance. The SYM Jet 14 is being offered in Malaysia in three sober colour options black, cedar brown and steel grey.
Sym Jet 14 Design
The SYM Jet 14 has got the right dimensions to classify it as a proper maxi-scooter. However, the overall design looks fairly simple by modern standards. It is the size and a couple of design elements, which make the SYM Jet 14 have a nice visual persona.
The SYM Jet 14 looks wide and sharp when viewed from the front. The scooter has a dual halogen headlamp setup, which comes with daytime running LEDs on their upper corners. These angular headlamps are positioned in the lower part of a sharply designed front fairing, which has nice creases while flowing upwards.
The front apron here gets a long but slightly lower-positioned tinted windscreen, which does not serve many purposes of deflecting the oncoming wind but makes the scooter look big from the front. The side edges of the front apron beside the headlamps get sharp and triangular clear lens turn indicators.
The SYM Jet 14 has a simple-looking design when viewed from the side, with its long wheelbase and big-sized body panels giving it the much-needed stance of a maxi-scooter. The side panels of the front apron flow down towards the floorboard in a pointier fashion. The floorboard is not too big, but sizeable enough to accommodate the legs of a full-sized adult. The well-padded seat of the SYM Jet 14 too is big and long enough to accommodate two riders comfortably.
The SYM Jet 14 gets fairly sized body panels, a long single-sided exhaust and an attractive design for the black alloy wheels. Towards the back, the SYM Jet 14 starts getting wider, with the scooter having a wide single-piece pillion grab rail and a wide tail lamp cluster, comprising of a start-themed LED headlamp with clear lens turn indicators integrated within it.
For a sub-200cc maxi-scooter, the cockpit of the SYM Jet 14 looks quite sober, with a rectangular fully-digital instrument console behind a tubular handlebar. This instrument console gets wing-like silver surrounds on either side and packs in a host of information, such as speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, clock, trip meter, odometer and basic MID.
Jet 14 Ride & Handling
The SYM Jet 14 is an entry-level maxi-scooter, and to keep the costs in check, the scooter gets a simple mechanical composition. The SYM Jet 14 has a suspension unit comprising of conventional hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and dual-sided hydraulic coil springs at the back. The scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends, both of which are wrapped with 100/90-14 tubeless tyres. For braking purposes, the SYM Jet 14 is bestowed with a 260mm disc brake at the front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear.
Sym Jet 14 Engine & Fuel Consumption
At the heart of the SYM Jet 14 is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 168.9cc engine, which defers its ‘200’ suffix, but gives it an edge over every other 150cc offering in the market in terms of displacement. However, with a maximum power output of 12 PS and a peak torque output of 12.2 Nm, it is not as powerful as even other 150cc scooters available in the market right now. This makes it a bit underpowered for the size of the scooter and the weight of the engine.
Jet 14 Braking & Safety
Again, to keep the costs down. SYM has skipped on a lot of potential safety features. However, the list here is still decent with a single-channel ABS and a safety switch for emergency starts.
Sym Jet 14 Verdict
The SYM Jet 14 might not be the most stylish maxi-scooters out there. However, for the price at which it is offered, it is a fair value-for-money offering, with the performance and size of a 150cc maxi-scooter with bigger tyres and more comfortable ride quality.
