Modenas launches new logo and brand identity; unveils new Kriss 110 moped
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian home-grown motorcycle brand MODENAS (Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional) has rolled out a new logo and brand identity as part of its global expansion strategy. The local automaker aims to expand globally by offering value, advanced technology, and cleaner mobility options.

The updated logo retains the classic blue and white colour along with a new grey and platinum colour variant. Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Group Chairman of MODENAS and Group Managing Director of DRB-Hicom Berhad, officially launched the new brand identity. The event was attended by Faizal Mohd Yusof, Senior Director of Industry and Development at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), and Roslan Roskan, CEO of Modenas.
On the rebranding effort, Roslan states, “MODENAS represents a Malaysian-built legacy. We’ve established a strong foundation in Malaysia, but our ambitions extend far beyond. The mobility industry is rapidly evolving, driven by the urgent need for energy transition and growing concerns for environmental sustainability. With this, our renewed vision will see us bringing excitement that connects people and communities, by providing value, technology, and sustainable products globally.”
In conjunction with the new brand identity, Modenas also introduced an upgraded, eco-friendly version of the Kriss 110. It is powered by an updated Euro 4 compliant 108-cc single-cylinder SOHC engine mated to a four-speed rotary gearbox and chain final drive. Also new for 2024 are 17-inch cast alloy wheels wrapped with new tubeless tyres.
This model showcases the brand’s commitment to sustainability and compliance with global environmental regulations.
Other key highlights include - a multi-reflector headlight, instrument panel with gear indicator, USB charging port, telescopic front suspension, and preload-adjustable rear suspension.
A brief about Modena's current and future endeavours
Modenas is an official subsidiary of DRB-Hicom Berhad established in 1995. It holds strategic collaborations with global manufacturers like Kawasaki, Kymco, and Bajaj Auto which enables the company to expand into markets such as Greece, South America, Russia, Thailand, and China. Modenas has been supplying MEV-1 electric motorcycles to Pos Malaysia since 2023, supporting the country’s net-zero mission.
Modenas is now set to widen its horizon by adopting innovation, overcoming challenges, and setting new industry benchmarks. “As we look ahead, we remain committed to our roots while embracing the future with open arms. This new direction reshapes our culture and operations, emphasising inclusivity and sustainability, and global collaboration.
