Daiichi Sirius 110 Z Design

Step-through underbone bikes are primarily designed for utilitarian purposes, but nowadays, many brands have been rolling out sporty-looking options to make them more desirable even for younger riders. The Daiichi Sirius 110 Z looks like a half-hearted attempt in that direction, which tries to be sporty with its colourful-looking graphics but feels like a disappointment due to its below-average build quality in some places.

Daiichi has tried to make the Sirius 110 Z a ‘serious’ machine with a sharp design language. The compact and pointy front apron of the bike has large and angular light housings that have LED DRL strips and rounded halogen turn indicators within them. The main V-shaped halogen headlamp is incorporated within the handlebar cowl, with the cowl also having a sharp look to it.

The side profile of the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z looks pretty basic, with the bike having contrasting graphics on the side panels – besides the front apron and below the seat. The Sirius 110 Z also has a long and slim seat which is good enough for two adults, making it practical for daily urban riding. This long seat also has a wide tubular pillion grab rail at the back.

The Daiichi Sirius 110 Z has a slim profile towards the rear, with the side body panels flowing towards the tall-mounted halogen tail lamp cluster, which also gets integrated clear lens turn indicators. The exhaust pipe has a chrome finish on its upper part and looks cheap with its low-rent design. The instrument console of the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z is also a simple affair, with the all-analog console getting only the basics – speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge.

Sirius 110 Z Ride & Handling

Like the powertrain, the rest of the mechanical hardware of the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z is also pretty basic, with the underbone moped having a conventional telescopic fork at the front and dual coil springs at the rear. The ride quality is decent, and thanks to the slim profile and low kerb weight, the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z is also easy to ride with agile handling.

Equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z has a 70/90-17 tyre at the front and an 80/90-17 tyre at the rear. While the tyres are slim, they offer decent grip at lower urban speeds. The Sirius 110 Z also has a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

Daiichi Sirius 110 Z Engine & Fuel Consumption

The powertrain setup of the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z is very simple and cost-effective, with this step-through underbone bike having a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 106.8cc engine. Paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, which is easy to operate, this engine churns out 6.5 bhp of maximum power and 7.3 Nm of maximum torque.

These figures are quite underwhelming even by entry-level two-wheeler standards, and while the scooter has decent pull at lower speeds with a single rider, the lack of power is evident when there are two people on board or while riding at higher speeds. However, the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z impresses with its decent fuel efficiency of around 66 kmpl.

Sirius 110 Z Braking & Safety

The equipment list of the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z is pretty basic, with the underbone moped having almost negligible modern-day features on board. There are not many safety features in this bike too, with the front disc brake ensuring a safe braking at moderate speeds.

Daiichi Sirius 110 Z Verdict

Designed purely for people who want a basic ride prioritising function over form, the Daiichi Sirius 110 Z comes across as a decent buy, if not a compelling one. The scooter has no USP whatsoever, and while it is easy to ride with agile handling, it can do better in almost all the remaining areas, including the design, equipment levels, and performance.
