2022 Moto Morini X-Cape 650 introduced in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Moto Morini X-Cape 650 is scheduled for a Malaysian launch in mid-2022. However before that happens, here’s a little sneak-peek with the showcasing of the production version in the local market.
Moto Morini distributor in the local market
Moto Morini recently announced that it has appointed MForce Bike Holdings as its official distributor in Malaysia. The company will commence its operation with its very own adventure-tourer, the X-Cape 650 which is expected to be followed by Moto Morini’s naked sports bikes like ZT 1200 & Corsaro ZZ along with retro models like Seiemmezzo SCR/STR 650 and Super Scrambler 1200.
What powers the 2022 Moto Morini X-Cape 650?
Mono Morini’s upcoming bike is powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, two-cylinder mill that pumps out a maximum power of 59 hp at 8,250 rpm along with a peak torque of 56 Nm at 7,000 rpm, fed by Bosch EFI.

2022 Moto Morini X-Cape 650 details -
- The X-Cape 650 will be available in two variant options in the local market, the only difference being wheels - one with cast alloy and the other with spoked units
- The Moto Morini’s adventure-tourer will be offered in two colour choices - Red Passion and Smoky Anthracite. The bike with the former hue comes fitted with the company’s branded aluminium touring boxes
- Intended for touring, the X-Cape 650 comes fitted with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, with 110/80 and 150/70 tyres respectively
- Making the ride comfortable and convenient for the rider are gears like TFT-LCD screen, all-around LED lighting, dual USB charging port inside the front cowl, and backlit switches on the handlebar pods
- Braking on the X-Cape 650 is taken care of by Brembo with twin-piston callipers clamping 298 mm floating discs on the front and 255 mm disc with a two-piston calliper at the rear
- Part of the bike’s standard kit is Bosch 9.1 Mb ABS which is switchable for off-road work
- Taking care of suspension duties is a Marzocchi upside-down fork at the front, measuring 50 mm and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear
2022 Moto Morini price & competition
Taking into consideration the adventure tourer’s features and specs it is expected to retail for around RM 40,000. As for its key competitor in the local market, the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT priced at RM 37,989, is a capable rival.
