Moto Morini X-Cape 650

The Moto Morini X-Cape 650 is a fresh take by the Italian motorcycle maker on the adventure touring category. It has come up as a desirable design with a unique appeal of its own. While there are some design cues that might remind you of other motorcycles in the business, the overall design has an identity of its own. It makes the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 look nice and distinctive.

The Moto Morini X-Cape 650 looks tall from the front, with the motorcycle having a high-positioned dual headlamp design. The wing-shaped dual headlamps look angular and have all-LED illumination. These headlamps sit within a compact, slanted cowl, which merges with the semi-fairing of the motorcycle and comes fitted with a tall and transparent windscreen, which can be adjusted for its height. The upper corners of the front cowl come attached with LED turn indicators on them.

The tall front cowl merges with the semi-fairing, which flows downwards and surrounds the radiator from both sides. The same goes for the fuel tank, which is tall and looks big for the motorcycle while flowing downwards. To make the motorcycle look purposeful, Moto Morini has equipped it with spoke wheels and off-road spec tyres. The slim and edgy-looking tail section has a floating design and flows towards the back while accommodating split seats.

At the back, the pointy tail section of the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 looks compact and comes fitted with a large aluminium pannier holder. While a tiny LED tail lamp sits between the compact tailpiece, the compact rear fender also comes attached with LED turn indicators.

The Moto Morini X-Cape 650 is the first motorcycle from the Italian motorcycle manufacturer to come with a full-TFT instrument console. This 7-inch screen features multiple display modes and shows all the essential information while on the go. Other features of the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 include a USB fast charger, handlebar crash guards and premium switches on both sides.

The Moto Morini X-Cape 650 is equipped with proper hardware for off-roading duties. Sitting on a steel frame with an aluminium swingarm, the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 comes armed with fully-adjustable 43mm inverted forks from Marzocchi at the front and a mono-shock with an aluminium swingarm at the rear. For braking, the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 is equipped with dual 298mm discs at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear. While the motorcycle's seat height is 820mm, its ground clearance is 190mm. A pair of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR off-road tyres are present in the Moto Morini X-Cape 650.

The Moto Morini X-Cape 650 sources its power from a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, inline-twin, 649cc engine, which is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. With a maximum power output of 60 PS and a peak torque output of 54 Nm, the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 is in league with other 650cc middleweight sport and adventure tourers with an ample amount of torque in the mid-range. Even the bottom-end grunt of this engine is impressive, which should come in handy at low-speed off-roading.

Apart from a dual-channel ABS, the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 doesn’t come with any other prominent safety feature, which is a missed opportunity for a motorcycle of this class.

The Moto Morini X-Cape 650 is one motorcycle that should be in your list of considerable motorcycles. It has a fresh, premium design, a punchy engine and a decent equipment list for a middleweight motorcycle.
