UMW Toyota reveals April 2023 sales, announces new Gazoo racing activities

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor has announced its sales results for April 2023. During the month, the Japanese automaker managed to sell a total of 6,767 units (6,681 Toyota and 86 Lexus) with a slight dip of 3% over the same month last year. However, the company’s year-to-date sales is 9% higher compared to April 2022.

Well, despite a modest decrease in sales, UMWT remains positive and targets long-term growth. The President of UMW Toyota Motor Datuk Ravindran K. said, “We remain confident in our ability to deliver strong year-on-year growth.

“We have also seen promising response to our new models launched in quarter one of 2023, particularly the All-New Toyota Vios, and we expect this to contribute to our continued growth throughout the year.” 

He also reiterated the intact safety and quality standards of the Vios by saying, “We would like to assure you that the All-New Toyota Vios complies with all safety regulations and there is no compromise to the quality of the vehicle. The safety of our customers and our vehicles are always our top priority.” 

In conjunction with the April numbers release, UMW Toyota has announced two upcoming brand initiatives that aim to solidify the GAZOO Racing brand’s presence in Malaysia. These include -

Toyota GAZOO Racing Festival Season 6 Race 2 

The Toyota GAZOO Racing Festival Season 6 Race 2 will take place on 3 and 4 June 2023. It is a one-make racing series featuring the Toyota Vios which tests the talent of professional racers, rising stars, and popular celebrities.

Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup 2023 

The Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup is a simulator racing challenge that is in its sixth year. Started in 2018, this is the most lucrative online racing series in the country. Since that, it has attracted more than 3 million viewers and 40,000 spectators.
