Soon to Make its Way – Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chevrolet Cruze was introduced as a compact car on-roll from 2009, and since then this car has under gone several up-gradations. One such up-gradation that most people round the world were expecting was a hatchback version of this classic-sedan. Internet is long flooded with rendered images of hatchback version of Cruze and now finally it seems that Chevrolet is all set to work on this new variant.

At the Nationals Dealers Meeting organized in Las Vegas, Chevrolet is said to have showcased the new body type of 2016 Chevrolet Cruze. But it seems to a 'blessing in disguised' situation for the Cruze enthusiasts as no camera was able to catch even the slightest glimpse of this hatchback. So, for now we have to make peace with the hot-rendered image penned by Theophiluschin. Apart from it, Chevrolet is also numb over the appearance and specification of this new variant. The only verdict given by Chevrolet was from Mary Barra, Director of General Motors, who said that the company will introduce the Cruze hatchback in 2016, shortly after the revelation of the refreshed Cruze Sedan.

Experts believe that this progressive move by Chevrolet would give a tough-call to Ford Focus, its U.S counterpart which currently holds 40% of the market share. Further with this Cruze variant, Chevrolet aims to strengthen its brand image by serving a greater consumer base. On the path of Chevrolet, the next car-maker to introduce a hatchback version of one its previously successful cars is Honda, which is expected to introduce a hatchback version of Civic.

Further announcement on this hatchback are soon expected from Chevrolet, until then let’s hope that this variant would step-up on our expectation.
