Revamped and Ready: Facelift Range Rover Evoque lands in Malaysia, from RM499k

KUALA LUMPUR: The long-awaited facelifted Range Rover Evoque has finally graced our shores, making a grand entrance 8 months after its global debut. While the exterior changes might appear subtle, the baby Range Rover has undergone a significant transformation, particularly in the interior, especially around the dashboard area.

JLR Malaysia introduces three enticing variants of the Evoque: the P200 , P250 H Spec , and the P250 Lux Spec. To simplify, the P200 is the entry-level model, the P250 is its more potent counterpart, and the P250 Lux Spec stands as the epitome of power and luxury in the Evoque range.

Here's a breakdown of the pricing:

• P200 at RM498,800
• P250 H at RM529,800
• P250 Lux at RM565,800.

Under the hood, all three models inherit the pre-facelift's 2.0-liter Ingenium turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. The P200 version produces 200 PS and 320 Nm of torque, accelerating the Evoque from zero to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds. On the other hand, the P250 boasts 249 PS and 365 Nm, accomplishing the century sprint in 7.6 seconds. All variants feature a nine-speed ZF automatic gearbox and Efficient Driveline all-wheel drive with Driveline Disconnect.

Externally, the Evoque flaunts redesigned headlights with slimmer DRLs, a rectangular grille, and cleaner, broader u-design pattern taillights at the rear and deployable handles just like the last iteration. These refinements bring the Evoque closer in appearance to its sibling, the Range Rover.

The real showstopper is the revamped interior, showcasing a minimalist design with almost no buttons. The 11-inch curved infotainment screen, via the Pivi Pro interface, consolidates all commands, including climate control. The brand proudly claims that nearly 80% of the cabin's functionality can be effortlessly accessed with just two taps from the home screen.

Wireless phone charging enthusiasts will find a Qi wireless charger conveniently nestled between the infotainment screen and the new gear lever, borrowed from its Range Rover sibling.

Standard features include 20-inch wheels for the P200 and 21-inch wheels for the P250 variants, with the P200 housing an 11 Meridian speaker system and the P250 equipped with a 14-speaker setup. All models feature powered tailgates, while the P250 Dynamic HSE goes above and beyond with Pixel LED matrix headlights, Windsor leather upholstery, a panoramic glass roof, adaptive suspension, and a head-up display.

As expected from a luxury SUV, all variants come fully loaded with driver assist systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, rear- cross traffic alert monitor, traffic sign recognition and most importantly, autonomous emergency braking.
