On the inside, the Land Rover Range Rover has stepped up the game of luxury by offering an even higher-order premium appeal and tech. Customizable with one of the wide array of top-class leather upholstery and trim combinations, the Range Rover's cabin has a modern, sleek, and minimalist visual appeal, giving it a classy appearance.

An all-new four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel debuted in the new Land Rover Range Rover. Behind this new electronically adjustable steering wheel, there is a new-generation cutting-edge full-TFT instrument console with multiple display modes, cool-looking layouts, and graphics. In the middle of the center console sits a new-generation 13.1-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system, through which one can control all the audio, climate control, powertrain tune, and suspension setup settings. The lower centre console houses the compact but elegant-looking transmission lever and various switches for in-car functions, with its floating design giving it a classy look.

The Land Rover Range Rover gets several top-order features like illuminated aluminium treadplates, executive class comfort plus rear seats, four-zone automatic climate control, 24-way powered, heated and ventilated front seats with massage functions, SV semi-aniline leather seats with SV bespoke leather headlining, SV exclusive veneer, wireless charger, gloss white ceramic controls, head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and premium Meridian sound system in the top-line SV variant. 

With grandness and majestic appeal of the highest order, the Land Rover Range Rover has a grand and authoritative road presence, backed by traditional SUV elements like large dimensions and a boxy design. However, this fifth-generation version of the Range Rover has become the sleekest in appearance of all the previous-generation models.

At the front, the Land Rover Range Rover features the trademark trapezoidal grille, which has now become sleeker than before, while getting different treatments for different trim levels. While the SE, HSE and Autobiography get premium chrome surrounds and inserts for the grille with segmented rectangular inserts, the SV variant has horizontal chrome slats and surrounds.

The range-topping SV variant pushes the bars of attention-to-detailing further with its exclusive SV metal-plated accents and a white ceramic exterior badge with a black SV roundel. Talking about the elements of illumination on the outside, the lower-spec variants of the Range Rover have pixel LED headlamps with signature LED DRLs and animated directional indicators, while the higher-spec ones have digital LED headlights with signature LED DRLs and image projection. 

From the side, the Land Rover Range Rover commands attention with its upright stance and long wheelbase, further strengthening its authoritative road presence. The lower variants of the Range Rover have 21-inch silver alloy wheels, whereas the higher Autobiography and SV variants have 22-inch machined alloy wheels. The Range Rover also gets blacked-out and seamless treatment for the pillars, along with flush-type door handles and vertical garnish design on the front doors as standard across its lineup.

At the back, the sixth-generation Land Rover Range Rover gets extensive changes over the model it replaced, with the SUV now having slim, vertically aligned, blacked-out panels on the corners of the boot lid that house LED tail lamps. There is a blacked-out strip between the upper edges of the tail lamps, which accommodates dynamic LED turn indicators on the sides.

This is no doubt a thirsty beast with a huge appetite. The 3.0-litre V6 petrol has a fuel efficiency of 8.7 kmpl whereas the 5.0-litre V8 offers 7.8 kmpl. The 4.4-litre diesel is slightly economical at 11.5 kmpl. The carbon emissions however has been reduced to 299g/km. Given, that one does not really expect a Land Rover to fair in this department, Range Rover has still managed to excel fairly well.

Despite its massive size and boxy appeal, the Land Rover Range Rover feels easy and comfortable to drive with various systems like all-wheel steering, electronic active differential with torque vectoring by braking, electronic air suspension with dynamic response and configurable programs. The terrain response management offered in the new Range Rover complements the all-wheel drive excellently with its drive modes, including dynamic, eco, comfort, grass/gravel/snow, mud and ruts, sand and rock crawl.

Land Rover has levelled up the game of tech under the hood of the Range Rover by offering a plethora of engine tune options, which includes mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Starting with the mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engine options, the petrol engines available across the Range Rover lineup are 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-petrol (offered in two states of tune – 360 PS and 500 Nm and 400 PS and 550 Nm) and a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol (offered in two states of tune – 530 PS and 750 Nm and 624 PS and 750 Nm). There is also a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine, which is available in three states of tune – 249 PS and 600 Nm, 300 PS and 650 Nm, and 350 PS and 700 Nm. 

Then comes the powertrain with plug-in hybrid tech on offer, which includes a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 38.2kWh battery. This powertrain, too, is available in three states of tune—440 PS and 620 Nm, 459 PS and 550 Nm, 510 PS and 700 Nm—across the Range Rover's variant lineup. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is the standard transmission in the entire variant lineup of Land Rover Range Rover. 

The extensive list of standard features offered in the Land Rover Range Rover includes a driver condition monitor, 360-degree parking camera, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, emergency braking, lane keep assist, ABS with EBD, eight airbags, traction control, brake assist, electronic stability program, park assist with parallel parking, front and rear parking aid, hill assist control, hill descent control and lane watch camera.
