The teaser previews the silhouette of three different models - a sedan, an SUV, and a hatchback The caption reads, "Are you ready for e:MAS," generating excitement and curiosity among car enthusiasts and potential buyers.
Well, no official details are available on the upcoming Proton EVs, here we make some guesses.
The first silhouette in the teaser is a sedan that looks similar to the Proton S70 currently sold in Malaysia. Launched in November last year, the Proton S70 has been a major success in the C-segment sedan category. The sedan’s stylish design and impressive performance have made it a favourite among Malaysian buyers. Given its popularity, it’s highly likely that Proton will introduce an electric version of the S70 as part of its new EV sub-brand.
The next silhouette showcases an SUV, which is widely rumoured to be a rebadged version of the Geely Galaxy E5. The Galaxy E5 is a C-segment SUV based on Geely’s GEEA 3.0 architecture with cell-to-body (CTB) integration. It is 4,615 mm long, 1,901 mm wide, and 1,670 mm tall and spans a 2,750 mm long wheelbase.
The Chinese-spec Galaxy E5 comes powered by a front-mounted electric motor tuned to deliver a maximum power of 218 PS and a peak torque of 320 Nm. As for the battery, there are two options - 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh, offering a driving range of up to 440 km and 530 km respectively.
The last silhouette appears to be a hatchback, which is also probably inspired by a Geely hatchback model.
Stay tuned for further updates as Proton gears up to launch these exciting electric cars in Malaysia.
