Porsche Cayman GT4 Launched in Malaysia With a Starting Price of RM840k
Kuala Lumpur: Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has launched the all-new Porsche Cayman GT4 in Malaysia. This launch comes just after its global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. While the previous Cayman GTS was priced at RM700k, this new model comes a bit expensive with a price tag of RM840k. This stated price also includes a four-year warranty. According to SDAP, the deliveries would start by the second half of 2016.

This car boasts of significant performance upgrades and is capable of lapping the Nurburgring in just 7 minutes, 40 seconds. Under the hood, this two-seater is powered by a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine which churns out a maximum power of 385 hp at 7400 rpm along with a peak torque of 420 Nm at 4750 to 6000 rpm. This robust engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which sends power to rear wheels with the aid of a mechanical rear differential lock and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) system. From a position of standstill, this car reaches an acceleration of 100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds along with a top speed of 295 kmph. Further, the GT4 consumes just 10.3 litres of fuel per 100 km.
Its new front bumper features LED daytime running lights and three large air intakes that provide cool air to radiators and brakes. Its rear end is adorned by a massive wing which contributes towards downforce. Its aggressive look is further accentuated by 20-inch alloy wheels and centre-mounted twin exhaust pipes. This car also shares its platform with the larger 911 GT3. The front track has been increased by 13 mm while the height is lowered by 30 mm than the standard Cayman. To keep this car in control, the automaker has provided it with, Porsche's Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Stability Management system. Further, its braking mechanism is assisted by 380 mm ventilated disc brake for both the ends which are clamped down by six-pitons callipers at the front and four-piston ones at the rear end.

Inside, both driver and passenger seats get upholstered in a leather and Alcantara mix. Its cabin also features a GT4-specific three-spoke steering wheel and a CDR infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen display. The Club Sport Package provided by automaker includes a rollover protection bar and a six-point safety harness with an optional front roll cage. Further, a Sport Chrome Package is also provided.
