Ora Good Cat EV launched in Malaysia at RM 139,800

KUALA LUMPUR: After months of waiting and speculation, Great Wall Motors has finally launched its cute electric car, the Ora Good Cat, in Malaysia. The EV is on offer in two variants - 400 Pro and 500 Ultra, equipped with different battery packs offering a maximum range of 500 km on a single charge.

The Ora Good Cat price in Malaysia is as follows -

Each purchase will be accompanied by a five-year/150,000 km (whichever comes earlier) manufacturer’s warranty, an eight-year/180,000 km battery warranty, 5 free labour services, and complimentary portable and home chargers.

Ora Good Cat drivetrain, range, and charging

Both variants are powered by the same electric motor generating a maximum power output of 143 hp and a peak torque of 210 Nm. However, as mentioned above, the automaker offers different battery packs for different trims. The top-spec 500 Ultra comes fitted with a 63.1-kWh battery offering an NEDC-rated range of 500 km while the 400 Pro is paired with a smaller 47.8 kWh unit, which promises a drive of 400 km on a single charge.

When it comes to Ora Good Cat charging time, the Chinese EV takes the following time to juice up according to the type of charger used -

In terms of exterior equipment, the Ora Good Cat features automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights as well as LED tail lights as standard. Also part of the kit is an electric panoramic sunroof, auto rain-sensing wipers, powered wing mirrors and 18-inch alloy wheels. On top of that, the 500 Ultra also gets a welcome lighting effect and memory function for the wing mirrors.

The five standard colour choices are - Coral Blue, Hamilton White, Sun Black, Mars Red (with black roof), and Hamilton White (with black roof). The top-spec can be exclusively specced in either Verdant Green-White roof or Hazel Wood Beige-Brown roof.

Inside the EV lies a nice two-tone dashboard (all-black as standard) coupled with a bucketload of creature comforts, including -
