New Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid variants introduced in the US
KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Porsche Panamera made its global debut with revised styling, improved technology, and more potent drivetrains last November. Back then, the automaker introduced the sporty saloon in base V6 and the range-topping V8–powered Turbo E-Hybrid versions. Now, it has updated the vehicle’s lineup with the addition of two new V6 plug-in hybrid variants.

The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is equipped with a new hybrid system featuring a revamped 2.9-litre V6-twin-turbo engine producing a maximum power of 300 hp. But when the electric motor kicks in, the total power jumps to 463 hp and 650 Nm of torque, enabling the vehicle to hit the 100 kmph mark in 3.9 seconds and attain a top speed of 174 mph.
The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid, on the other hand, houses a 348 hp 2.9-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder mill and electric motor, combinedly producing a total output of 536 hp and 750 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180 mph.
The new Panamera E-Hybrid models have faster charging, better throttle response, and a 45% larger battery. The battery holds 25.9 kWh without extra space, and the charger can juice it up in 2.5 hours. Also part of the kit are four driving modes and improved Sport and Sport Plus modes for better efficiency.
The new variants come loaded with adaptive two-chamber air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard. Customers can also opt for Porsche Active Ride suspension for enhanced traction and comfort. This system uses electrically powered hydraulic pumps to control each damper, minimizing body movement and maintaining stability during driving.
The new Panamera models boast a sleek design with LED Matrix headlights and distinctive front air intakes. At the back, a continuous tail light bar and frameless rear window add to the sedan's appeal. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid comes with 19-inch wheels and black brake calipers, while the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid features 20-inch Panamera AeroDesign wheels and red brake calipers.
Optional upgrades for the latter include different-colored brake calipers and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with 21-inch wheels.
Both versions also feature Lane Change Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, soft-close doors, 14-way comfort seats, and heated steering wheels as standard.
The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is priced at $115,500 (approx RM 550k), and the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid at $126,800 (approx RM 604k). Orders for both models will begin at the end of March, with anticipated availability at U.S. dealerships in Fall 2024.
