New Nissan Almera spied in Thailand
KUALA LUMPUR: We have been long reporting about the soon arrival of the new Almera, and now we have another update about the sedan. The 4th-gen Almera was recently sighted testing in Thailand, all covered in a black sheet. Also, the model made its public debut in Florida only two months back, and it seems to be preparing for its ASEAN launch. Fingers crossed on this one.
Only the rear part of the car has been captured and its the same shoot that’s doing rounds all over the internet. This indicating that Nissan Thailand is getting ready to welcome the new and improved B-segment sedan.
The Nissan sedan has been code names N18, and like all the previous gen models, the upcoming car too displays a striking exterior design and an equally impressive cabin.
In the US market, the all-new Nissan Almera gets a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol mill that has been borrowed from its predecessor. The one launching in the ASEAN region will get several engine options. Like the Thai market model will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, and the new Almera in Indonesia and Malaysia will get the bigger 1.5-litre petrol unit.
The previous-gen Nissan Almera was launched in the year 2012, and its vital highlight was its segment-leading boot space and leg room. However, that crown passed on the Honda City that arrived in 2014. For a while now, Almera remained unchanged with only a few non-major styling updates.
