Mugen previews parts for the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback

KUALA LUMPUR: Mugen, not Modulo (Honda’s in-house tuner) is the first one to come up with accessories for the all-new Civic Hatchback. Thus, showing its close ties with Honda. The said Mugen parts are just previewed at the moment and are scheduled to go on sale next month, i.e. September 3, in Japan.

The new Honda Civic Hatchback Mugen parts are designed and developed under the ‘Dynamic & Sport’ concept. It includes the following subtly sporty parts, all showcasing an in gloss black finish -

• Front splitter
• Side skirts
• Tailgate spoiler
• Rear spats

Also, part of the kit is mufflers with twin tailpipes, sports mats, and a set of 18-inch forged alloy wheels. What else? Well, customers can also pick a fake carbon fibre garnish for the grille with the tri-colour Mugen logo, black door appliques with aero fins, rear door graphics, and ventilating door visors.

Any under the hood changes?

No under the hood revisions are yet announced by Mugen. The standard Honda Civic model sources power from a 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo mill that pumps out a maximum power of 182 PS and a peak torque 240 Nm. The power is transmitted to the wheels via either a 6-speed man2ual gearbox or a CVT unit.
