Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launches all-new GLC 300 4MATIC
KUALA LUMPUR: The highly-anticipated, all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC is finally here on Malaysian soil. After making its global debut last June, the car would be available locally as a fully-imported unit.

Compared to the 2020 model, the 2023 GLC is slightly larger with 60 mm and 15 mm added to its length and wheelbase respectively. While the width remains unchanged, the height is reduced by 4 mm. Also, the increased fingers lead to 70-liter more boot space than before.

Designed on the brand’s SensualPurity philosophy, the new GLC 300 continues to showcase the same shape as before. Part of its revised design kit is -

Interior
The new GLC cabin takes a radical departure from the previous model that’s been around since 2015. For instance, the SUV now gets the latest C-Class like an archaic dashboard, squarish air vents, and fewer physical controls. Also part of the setup is -

Powertrain configuration
Powering the latest Mercedes-Benz is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making a maximum power of 258 PS at 5,800 rpm along with a peak torque of 400 Nm from 2,000 to 3,200 rpm. Part of the setup is a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission, a 4Matic all-wheel drive system as well as a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
The car also gets an integrated starter-generator that offers a substantial output boost - 23 PS and 200 Nm. The system also enables comfortable engine start-stop and coasting.
Performance
The above-mentioned powertrain configuration allows the 2023 GLC to hit the 100 kmph mark in just .2 seconds and attain a top speed of 240 kmph.
Safety
The SUV packs several active and passive safety features along with driver assistance systems. The list includes the following -
