Mercedes-Benz introduces the AI-powered MBUX Virtual Assistant at CES 2024

KUALA LUMPUR: Leading automakers around the world have put on display their latest technologies at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas. Mercedes-Benz is one of them, which showcased a lineup of digital advancements, including the all-new MBUX Virtual Assistant

The Mercedes-Benz MBUX Virtual Assistant is an AI-powered system, which transforms the user interface and makes human-like interaction possible. Based on MB.OS, it uses generative AI and advanced 3D graphics and presents a new face to the customer with natural and empathetic interaction. 

By using generative AI and proactive intelligence, the MBUX Virtual Assistant understands human feelings and makes their life easy, convenient, and comfortable. For example, it can adapt to the user's routine and can examine his/her calendar for insights. If it notices a delay for a meeting, it might propose joining the meeting virtually while driving. 

The MBUX Surround Navigation leverages the power of MB.OS and advanced 3D game-engine graphics for smooth route guidance.

Our digital advances on show at CES 2024 are proof points on our journey towards the hyper-personalised Mercedes-Benz user experience,” said Markus Schäfer, Member of the Board of Management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Chief Technology Officer.

Among the other new technologies displayed at the event was a new in-car music experience called MBUX SOUND DRIVE that’s been developed by Mercedes-AMG in collaboration with American entrepreneur will.i.am and an In-car audio storytelling system with a collaboration with Audible and Amazon Music. 

Mercedes-Benz also previewed the Concept CLA Class, based on the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) and the camouflaged prototype of the new all-electric G-Class at the CES 2024.
