Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV officially enters production

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz has made the news of the new EQS SUV official. The luxurious automaker’s first all-electric Mercedes-EQ will be manufactured in the United States.

    Jörg Burzer, member of the board of management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG said, “Our production network is very well positioned for the sustainable and rapid scaling of electric vehicle volumes.

    “With the new EQS SUV joining our production portfolio of all-electric Mercedes-EQ models, we reached another important milestone in our strategy to go all electric by the end of the decade – wherever market conditions allow.”

    Before the beginning of the SUVs North American production, the car made its European launch in August and in the same month came the news of 12,000 EQS recalls.

    A little about the new EQS SUV -

    The luxurious Mercedes EV made its premiere earlier this year and is third in the line after the EQS saloon and EQE sporty executive saloon to be built in the brand’s latest EV architecture.

    The EQS SUV can easily seat seven passengers and offers a superb driving range of 660 km (WLTP).

    The car is offered in three trim options - the EQS 450+, EQS 450 4MATIC, and the EQS 580 4MATIC. The table mentioned below gives their performance detail -

    The EQS SUV’s key features include electrically adjustable second-row seats, the third row gets two additional individual seats, Trailer Maneuvering Assist or MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) Augmented Reality Navigation, a four-link axle at the front and an independent multi-link suspension at the rear, AIRMATIC air suspension, Dynamic Select modes (Eco, Comfort, Sport and Individual), the rear-axle steering with a steering angle, Dolby Atmos sound system, and MBUX Hyperscreen.
