KLIMS 2024: UMW Toyota launches all-new 2025 Corolla Cross and 2025 Camry
KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota has introduced the upgraded versions of its two highly popular models, the Corolla Cross and Camry, at the 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show. The latest models hail from the brand’s Beyond Zero initiative and demonstrate its commitment to advanced, eco-conscious mobility solutions.

2025 Toyota Corolla Cross
The Corolla Cross is one of Toyota’s best-selling cars in Malaysia. The latest version of this SUV comes in three variants - 1.8V, 1.8 HEV, and the first-ever HEV GR Sport. The prices are as follows -

The new Corolla Cross Hybrid utilizes the fourth-gen Toyota Hybrid Electric System, which combines a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors. The engine produces 98 PS of maximum power at 5,200 rpm and 142 Nm of torque at 3,600 rpm, while the primary electric motor makes 72 PS and 163 Nm of torque.
The power is sent to the wheels through an e-CVT gearbox, designed for optimal fuel efficiency and driving performance. The vehicle also features an EV mode for emission-free driving and a Remote Engine Start function via the Toyota MY app, allowing pre-entry cooling.
The base-spec model, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine tuned to generate 139 PS and 172 Nm of torque. Sending power to the wheels is a 7-speed CVT mated with a Sequential Shiftmatic system.
In terms of design, the new Corolla Cross boasts a bold new look with refreshed front bumper and sportier Bi-LED headlamps.
The Corolla Cross GR Sport is a sportier variant and exclusively comes with the following bits -
- A two-tone Black Roof Package
- GR Sport Exterior Package, including a GR Sport-exclusive grille, rear combi lamp with clear lens, and rear bumper lower garnish
- GR/GR Sport emblems
- Tuned suspension and performance chassis brace for improved handling
- Sport ECU in Electric Power Steering
Inside the new 2025 Corolla Cross, we can find new dark brown accents, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a bigger 10.1-inch infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The upgraded feature kit also includes an electric Parking Brake and an enhanced Vehicle Telematics System with Remote Engine Start.
UMW Toyota has also upgraded the Corolla Cross colour palette with the addition of a new Dark Turquoise.
2025 Toyota Camry
UMW Toyota has launched the all-new ninth-gen Camry at KLIMS 2024. The latest model features significant styling and technical updates, with the hybrid powertrain as the sole option. It aligns with the brand’s commitment to low and zero-emission mobility.
The new 2025 Toyota Camry is available in a single variant, the Camry 2.5 HEV, priced at RM 248,800. It is offered as an imported completely built-up unit from Thailand.
Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture, the new Camry features a sophisticated and sporty exterior design with a 'HammerHead' front, sharp LED headlights, and a sculpted rear with LED light clusters. It also features a panoramic sunroof and 18-inch alloy rims.
Inside, the cabin is designed for comfort and elegance, with a modern layout, high-quality materials, and advanced features such as a 12.3-inch infotainment display, JBL audio system, Tri-Zone Climate Control, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
The new hybrid powertrain combines a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four gasoline mill, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery. The setup delivers a combined system output of 231 PS. The new Camry comes with four driving modes - Sport, Eco, Comfort, and EV. Its fuel efficiency stands at 4.0 litres per 100 km.
