Infiniti QX80 SUV gets tech updates for 2022
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan’s luxury arm Infiniti rolled out the all-new QX80 in the US market. For the 2022 model year, the three-row SUV received some major updates inside the cabin, although exterior styling and mechanical configuration under the hood remain the same. As per the company’s boss, Jeff Pope, "The new 2022 INFINITI QX80 combines modern luxury paired with exceptional strength.”
The SUV gets a new widescreen, high-definition 12.3-inch INFINITI InTouch display that supports USB-based Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. It also includes navigation with lane guidance and INFINITI's InTouch Services. Further accentuating the SUV’s premium appeal are leather seats, and heated front seats, and second-row captain's chairs. All the mentioned upgrades are available with all the Infiniti QX80 trims.
Further, the automaker brings on board an all-new wireless smartphone charger, a Bose Premium Sound system, and Intelligent Cruise Control for driver assistance.
Under the hood, the new Infiniti QX80 is equipped with the ongoing 5.6-litre V8 engine that pumps out a maximum power output of 400 hp and a peak torque of 560 Nm. The motor is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive as standard, The INFINITI All-Mode Four-Wheel Drive setup will also be an option for a more capable and comfortable ride.
Alongside the new QX80, Infiniti also showcased the 2022 QX60 SUV, which recently received exterior and interior upgrades. In terms of technology, the premium vehicle gets an enhanced ProPilot Assist with Navi-link and an upgraded version of the brand’s Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive system.
Both updated Infiniti SUVs are expected to go on sale in the US showrooms later this year. Prices for the new QX80 have not yet been announced, while the new QX60 will retail at a starting tag of $46,850 (approximately equal to RM 198,184).
