Honda Malaysia opens bookings for New Honda City

Honda Malaysia has announced today that the bookings for new Honda City are now opened. With more than 100,000 units sold since its introduction in March 2014, Honda’s best-selling model is now set to retain its throne in the B-segment market in Malaysia with few updates and enhancements for 2017 model year.

Powered by Honda’s 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine paired to Honda’s signature Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmissions (CVT), the drivetrain is the sole unit for all variants of the City. Output figures are expected to remain unchanged.

The updates for the new City and the most recognisable one is of course on its appearance. The new City will ride on new dual-tone alloy wheels, replacing the current turbine-like wheels. Other exterior equipment (V variant only) will include LED setups for its headlights, daytime running lights (DRLs) and front fog lights.

At the rear, there’s also LED for the tail lights and brake light (integrated into duck tail spoiler). Also new to the Honda City is a multi-angle reverse camera.

As for the interior, convenience is improved as all variants of the new City will be fitted with push start button and keyless entry as standard.

In safety department, the updated Honda City now receive Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), all equipped as standard. The range-topping V variant adds on six airbags.
