Fusion Car, Infiniti Q30 Peeped before Debut
KUALA LUMPUR : Infiniti, the luxury car division of Nissan, has given green light to the production process of its new fusion car, Infiniti Q30. Revealed as a concept to the world at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, you will soon see this beautifully crafted car on the roads. But before that, we have the some leaked, one- stage prior images of this car, revealing not much but surely enough to quench your thirst. Infiniti Q30 carries the same design language that the car showcased in Frankfurt, an amalgamation of a crossover, coupe and a hatchback.
Being built on the Mercedes-Benz platform, with this fission vehicle Nissan aims to “appeal to the generation X and Y buyers”. The Q30 is built on the front wheel drive Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform, the same base that does duty in the Mercedes A, B, CLA, and GLA class. As for the looks, Q30 has booked for itself Infiniti's signature grille mounted by a stunning pair of headlights, followed by an 'arrow-shot' inspired C-pillar, and an extended rear end. Designer Alfonso Albaisa said that the Q30 Concept will represent “new levels of design, materials, fit and finish, craftsmanship and performance.”
The most noticeable thing in these leaked images, that caught the maximum eyes was the '2.2d' badge that was mounted over the side fenders. Giving a cue towards a 2.2L turbo-diesel engine, that also supply power to Q50, developing a maximum power of 170 PS with a peak torque of 400Nm. It is expected that the Q30 will be offered in two options a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission, replicating its predecessor.
Addition features like automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and Infiniti’s InTuition entertainment system will also part the part of the package.
With its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, production of this fusion car is expected to start this year at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, England.
