Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and 8 Pro introduced in Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR: The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) is currently up and going at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Tangerang. The auto show opened its gate to the public on 12th August and will extend to 21 August 2022. With several amazing showcases by different automakers, the GIIAS is proving to be a hit with Chery being one of the contributors.

Chery’s booth at the GIIAS 2022 showcases the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro, both the cars are open for booking and will be launched in Indonesia sometime later this year.

Between the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro, the former is the compact 5-seater SUV while the latter is the bigger 7-seater option not to forget it is the brand’s flagship offering.

The Chery 7 Pro is a stylish-looking car and in terms of looks, it is surely an edgier interpretation of its bigger sibling than the Tiggo 8 Pro. Some of its noticeable features include -

• Intelligent matrix LED headlamps
• A 7-inch LCD instrument panel
• 10.25-inch central control display
• Inductive electric tailgate
• 360-degree camera
• Electronic gearshift
• Wireless charging
• Voice command

Powering the 5-seater SUV is either a 156hp/230Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged engine or a 197hp/290 Nm 1.6 T GDI unit. The power is transmitted to the wheels via a CVT with 9 virtual gears which as per the automaker is on par with Asisin’s 6-speed automatic transmission.

Time to discuss the flagship Chery Tiggo 8 Pro SUV that is designed on the brand’s ‘Life in Motion 3.0’ philosophy. The car comes equipped with several exciting and advanced features, some of which are -

• Sony surround sound system
• 8-speakers
• Panoramic skylight
• Multi-colour ambient lighting
• Two-tone black & brown upholstery
• Advanced Driver Assistance System with 12 functions (Adaptive

The bigger Chery is powered by the brand’s 3rd-gen ACTECO series 1.6 TGDI engine churning maximum power of 197 hp along with a peak torque of 290 Nm. The drive is sent to the wheels via an in-house developed 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Chery’s future in Malaysia

Chery Malaysia has already made it official that it plans to step into the Malaysian market with offerings like Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 8 Pro, and Omoda 5. The automaker is also working hard towards establishing assembly operations with local partners and set-up new sales and after-sales service networks.
