Chery Tiggo 8 Pro

While the exterior of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has received its fair share of updates, the compact SUV's cabin has also received a thorough redesign, making this update seem more of a complete makeover than just a minor facelift. Gone is the youthful-looking all-black leather upholstery with contrast red accents, and in comes a subtler-looking all-black cabin with grey inserts. 

Like other new-generation Chery SUVs, the Tiggo 4 Pro also features a conjoined horizontal full-TFT cockpit comprising full-TFT screens for the instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment system placed behind the unchanged multi-functional steering wheel. The central layer of the dashboard, which houses the AC vents, has a very sleek appearance and divides the centre console into two halves.

The lower centre console of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro gets a slanted touchscreen for operating and changing the settings of the dual-zone automatic climate control. The clean-looking transmission tunnel here gets brushed aluminium textures while housing the stubby transmission lever and electronic parking brake and a concealed space for cupholders. 

Chery gave the Tiggo 4 Pro a significant makeover with the new facelifted model, which has made the compact SUV look sleeker and much more contemporary in its appearance than before. Besides tweaking all the lines all around, the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro now features new modern elements that make the SUV feel new age and crowd-puller. 

The front profile of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has become bolder in its appearance, thanks to an all-new grille that looks larger than before and has an angular design with studded chrome inserts and chrome surrounds. The upper edges of the grille are attached with sleek and angular headlamps, which come armed with LED projectors and daytime running LEDs. The sides of the grille extend towards the corners of the front bumper, which house vertically aligned daytime running LED strips. 

The side profile of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has also been mildly redesigned, with the compact SUV now getting a new set of 17-inch machined alloy wheels. With new character lines flowing below the window waistline and over the rear wheel arches, the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro now has a blacked-painted C-pillar that gives the compact SUV a floating roof effect. The Tiggo 4 Pro also comes with slim silver roof rails and a chrome garnish strip running across the lower part of the door panels. 

The rear profile of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro receives the most significant changes, with the compact SUV now getting an all-new set of LED tail lamps laid horizontally with an LED-connected light bar running between them below the windscreen. Equipped with fancy LED inserts, the connected LED light bar between the tail lamps also sports the brand’s name. 

Not only its appearance, but the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has received an update under its skin too, with the compact SUV now getting a combination of Macpherson struts at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear. This new suspension setup has made the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro relatively plusher when it comes to ride quality. However, the steering feedback remains unchanged, which can feel vague and lifeless with its light setup at higher speeds. 

The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro shares its 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with the Omoda 5 SUV from the same brand, below which it has been positioned. However, the engine here is in a different state of tune, developing a maximum power output of 147 PS and a maximum torque output of 210 Nm. The transmission on duty is a CVT, which is smooth but lacks the zing of other conventional torque converters or dual-clutch automatic transmissions. 

While the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is not getting more sophisticated ADAS functions, it covers the basic grounds by getting essentials like six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, vehicle stability control, traction control, brake assist, hill start assist, downhill assist and reverse camera.

With all the new updates to the exterior, interior, engine performance and ride quality due to the new suspension, the new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro feels a much more mature and more accomplished product than before.
