What is the price of the Proton e.MAS 7 in Malaysia?
Proton Holdings Berhad officially introduced the e.MAS 7 electric vehicle (EV) on 16 December 2024 after a long phase of releasing teaser pictures. The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 is the Shah Alam-headquartered company’s first production EV. Prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched the car at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV has a starting price of RM 105,800.
How many variants of Proton e.MAS 7 are available in Malaysia?
The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV is currently available in Premium and Prime models.
Which variant of Proton e.MAS 7 offers the best value?
The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV Premium offers the best value. Though it’s priced higher, the car comes with six additional features over and above the entry-level Prime model.
What are the key features of Proton e.MAS 7 EV?
Both models of the all-electric 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 looks identical from the outside. There’s an almost total absence of the grille that covers the radiator unit in cars with an internal combustion engine (ICE). Many EVs still have a dummy grille to retain the more traditional look. But the 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 has stayed away from that path. The front end is blunt-out. It sports the Proton logo. The bonnet meets the high-up bumper. The exterior design of the 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 is organic with soft curves everywhere that’s perfect for an all-electric car. The headlights are sleek. The car gets all-around LED lighting. The standard kit includes automatic high-beam headlights, full-width taillights, retracting door handles, and factory-fitted roof rails. The car’s rear-end is rather plain. The rear indicators are placed on the C-pillar.
The major exterior difference between the Prime and the Premier are their wheels. The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 Prime runs on 18-inch alloy wheels with GitiControl P10 tyres. The Premium version, on the other hand, runs on 18-inch alloy wheels with Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance tyres that have a slightly more intricate design. The wheels of both models get a dual-tone sliver-black finish.
The cabin of the 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV gets leatherette seats. The interior gets Indigo Blue shade upholstery. The cabin is minimalist with most operations controlled by a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that runs on an automotive-grade system-on-chip and Flyme Auto operating system (OS), and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Functions like the drive modes, air-conditioner settings, operation of the panoramic sunroof, and the advanced driver-assist system are all controlled via the 15.4-inch touchscreen that’s connected to a 16-speaker Flyme Sound Wanos system. The central console looks classy with the rotary volume knob and four hard buttons that control the front demister, recirculation, automatic air-conditioner, and on/off function. There’s a small, covered storage box. The Mercedes-style multifunction steering wheel column gets a stalk to control the indicators. The two-spoke steering wheel gets a slightly oblong shape.
The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV gets 461 litres of boot space. The car doesn’t come with a spare tyre, leading to an extra 51 litres of under-boot space. The car comes with 33 storage spaces.
Is the Proton e.MAS 7 EV spacious?
With 4,615mm length, 1,901mm width, and 1,670mm height, the 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 is a fairly spacious five-passenger C-segment sports utility vehicle (SUV). In fact, the car looks bigger than it actually is. It’s 70mm wider and 89mm longer than the Proton X70. Like most crossover-SUVs, the two front seats of the 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV get the maximum space. Both seats are electrically adjustable. The driver’s seat gets memory function. The steering column is adjustable. All seats get lumbar support. Three passengers can comfortably sit on the rear seat without scraping shoulders. There’s no dearth of headroom and legroom on any of the seats. The panoramic sunroof makes the car roomier.
What are the engine and transmission options for Proton e.MAS 7 EV?
The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor that produces 218 PS/ 320 Nm. The motor is powered by a liquid-cooled, 49.52kW Geely Aegis short-blade lithium-iron-phosphate battery in the entry-level Prime model. The Premium version gets a higher capacity 60.22kWh battery. The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV handles well both on city streets and highways. The suspension system easily absorbs most bumps and potholes. With no ICE, the cabin is super-quiet. Only the louder road noise is felt a bit inside the cabin. The ride quality is hugely comfortable.
What is the range of Proton e.MAS 7 EV?
The 2025 Proton e.MAS 7 EV offers a range of 345 km and 410 km on a single recharge in the Prime and Premium models, respectively.

Proton e.MAS 7 Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
The first-ever all-electric production vehicle from the Malaysian carmaker Proton, the e.Mas 7 is a five-door, five-seater SUV, that first debuted at Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show. Coming from China through the CBU route, the Proton e.Mas 7 is a rebadged version of the Geely Galaxy E5 SUV and has been made available in two variants – Prime (RM 109,800) and Premium (RM 123,800). There are five colour choices for the e.Mas 7 in Malaysia – Turquoise Green, Lithium White, Slate Grey, Platinum Silver, and Quartz Rose.
Proton e.MAS 7 Interior & Features
Available in a single dual-tone indigo blue theme, the cabin of the Proton e.Mas 7 focuses on comfort and has lots of space to go well with the pure-electric theme. The cabin layout has also been shared with the Geely Galaxy E5 SUV, including various elements like an oblong-shaped, flat-bottomed two-spoke multi-functional steering wheel (though with Proton logo), a 10.2-inch TFT instrument console and a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment screen on the centre console. The Premium variant also gets a fancy 13.8-inch head-up display.
The lower half of the dashboard of the Proton e.Mas 7 has an asymmetric and wraparound design, which looks clean due to the positioning of transmission levers on the steering wheel in the form of stalks. This lower centre console has slim AC vents, a concealed compartment for cup holders, and a wireless charging pad.
Proton has equipped the e.Mas 7 with all the in-trend features, including a panoramic sunroof, 16-speaker audio system, powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat, and 256-colour ambient lighting.
e.MAS 7 Exterior
The Proton e.Mas 7 looks exactly like the Geely Galaxy E5, which is a rebadged version. Except for the Proton badges, the e.Mas 7 has the same design, though it misses out on the Galaxy E5's backlit virtual grille and corner design trims.
The aerodynamic design of the Proton e.Mas 7 has a clean-looking front end with sleek triangular LED headlamps above and small triangular air vents on the corners of the front bumper, which also have prominent C-shaped dark chrome surrounds. The e.Mas 7's headlamps have auto lighting and follow-me-home functions and feature intelligent high beam control.
The side profile of the Proton e.Mas 7 looks conventional with a sloping front bonnet, though it gets machined alloy wheels and flush-type door handles for a modern touch. The e.Mas 7 also gets powered and heated rearview mirrors, chrome surrounds for the windows, roof rails, and wheel arch mouldings on the sides, and full-length 3D LED tail lamps that get slimmer as they move towards the centre.
Proton e.MAS 7 Ride & Handling
With Macpherson struts at the front and a multi-link at the rear, the Proton e.Mas 7 has a soft-tuned suspension setup which translates into a supple and well-sorted ride quality, especially at lower speeds. While the ride also feels composed at higher speeds, it is the steering feel that lacks feedback. While the lower-spec Prime variant has 18-inch wheels, the Premium variant comes standard with 19-inch wheels.
e.MAS 7 Engine & Fuel Consumption
Both the variants of the Proton e.Mas 7 have a front-mounted electric motor, which churns out a maximum power output of 218 PS and a maximum torque output of 320 Nm. With this electric motor, the eMas 7 can reach a top speed of 175 kmph, while capable of doing the 0-100 kmph sprint in 6.9 seconds, making it the fastest Proton car on sale today.
The Proton e.Mas 7 range has two battery pack options. The base-spec Prime variant gets a 49.52kWh LFP battery claiming 345 km, while the higher-spec Premium variant claims 410 km range from its 60.22kWh LFP battery (both ranges are WLTP-certified).
Proton e.MAS 7 Braking & Safety
The Proton e.Mas 7 is loaded with safety features, with it being the first-ever Proton product to come equipped with Level-2 ADAS features. This suite includes intelligent and adaptive cruise controls, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, emergency lane keep assist, rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear cross-traffic braking, lane change safety warning, door open warning, traffic sign recognition and leading vehicle departure alert.
The other efficient safety features on board are six airbags, auto brake hold, traction control, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control, active rollover protection, hill hold assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors and 360-degree parking camera.
e.MAS 7 Verdict
While it is a rebadged Chinese vehicle with little identity of its own, the Proton e.Mas 7 scores high points for the technology and practicality it offers. With an efficient powertrain and lots of space and comfort, the e.Mas 7 is a good first step from Proton towards electric mobility for the future.
