Check out the Honda City Special Edition, priced at RM 76k
KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier today, Honda Malaysia introduced Honda City’s special edition. Honda’s best-seller car’s new trim is called Special Editon (SE) and is available in two color tones - White Orchid Pearl and the new Passion Red Pearl.
The Honda City Special Edition is based on the mid-level E variant. However, this one comes with a few extra features. The best part is that it is offered at a lower price tag that the City E trim. While the later is priced at RM 79,955, the new City SE will set you back by RM 75,955 (for Passion Red Pearl) and RM 76,075 (for White Orchid Pearl). Note, all the prices are on-the-road without insurance.
As mentioned above, the new City SE gets a few value-added features, included in the list is -
- Digital video recorder (aka dashcam)
- Built-in troll reader
- Door visors
- Trunk organiser
The digital video recorder will capture real-time videos of all your trips, and the setup also gets a rearview recording. And we must say, it is a smart inclusion as it’ll preserve all the evidence of what actually happened in case of a dispute. The built-in troll reader is very much like the unit integrated into the top-level Perodua Myvi spec and the aftermarket LokaTAG.
So, there would be a Smart Tag connected to the City’s power source which means no more physically taking out and storing a Smart Tag every time a tool booth arrivers or no more 9V battery changes. The small antenna slot in your Touch n Go card will take care of the rest.
The trunk organiser and door visors are self-explanatory. Powering the Honda City is a 1.5-litre i-VTEC powerplant that churns out a maximum power of 120 PS along with a peak torque of 145 Nm. The mill is paired to a CVT unit. Included in City lineup is a Hybrid trim that comes with a lithium-ion battery pack along with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
For Honda Malaysia, the City has been one of the biggest sales contributors, covering 34 percent of the automaker’s total sales. Besides, it is the best non-national B-segment car from January to July 2019.
