BMW 7 Series leaked, again
KUALA LUMPUR: It has not even been a week since the first leaks of what could possibly be the new BMW 7 Series started floating on the internet. Within a week, we have more images of the new 7 Series. The images leaked are from the online configurator of the sedan and provide a full-fledged look of the car. The BMW 7 Series is in its Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) make.
The newest iteration of the 7 Series sedan features a highly revised design language. At the front, you see a surprisingly large double-kidney grille which looks kinda unreal. The headlights are now slimmer than before and come with “corona ring” daytime running lights.
The presence of Laserlight technology by BMW can be confirmed by the appearance of blue highlights in the images. While the front bumper on the standard model houses a central intake, the M Sport variant continues to incorporate triple larger air-intakes. Both the models leaked also continue to have the “hockey stick” trims on the sides which now sit much upright and are placed a little lower on the doors.
Moving to the rear, we see less aggressive modifications. There are the L-shaped taillights which are connected by a thin light strip. Just like the front bumper, the rear also mimics the V-shape graphic. We also expect the new BMW 7 Series to come equipped with BMW’s iDrive infotainment system version 7.0 along with a fully-digital instrument cluster. Just like the outgoing models, the new 7 Series variants should be powered by the 3.0-litre straight-six and 4.4 V8 turbo engines along with the 6.6-litre bi-turbo V12 on the M760Li. With the arrival of a 3.0-litre straight-six, the hybrid variant is set to undergo a badge change as well and the car should now be named as the 745e. Like the X5 xDrive45e which houses the same motor, the new 745e should come with an all-electric one with a range of 85 kms.
